SAIC is looking for a subject matter expert on Software and Systems Architects with cross-platform software/systems design, architecture, development, testing, and release experience. Candidate will be responsible for interfacing with government leads, customers, industry, development team, and other stakeholders to determine implementation goals and strategies for Army Aviation's. Hybrid Remote position.
Android Native Development tools and platforms: Java, Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, and Maven
Develop Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) plugins
Data Storage Formats: XML, SQLite, Protocol Buffers
Dependency management, packaging technologies (NuGet and Maven), and semantic versioning
Establish and maintain CI/CD for software applications and components
Requirements analysis and creating and maintaining an agile backlog
Building, optimizing, signing, and releasing Android apps
Review code pull requests for standards, patterns, practices, and architecture boundaries
Support of rough order of magnitude estimates for development efforts
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
Microsoft Development tools and platforms: C#/.NET, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Windows Presentation Framework, .NET Standard, NuGet, Xamarin.Forms, Xamarin.iOS, and Xamarin.Android.
Android Native Development tools and platforms: Java, Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, and Maven
Experience developing Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) plugins
Familiar with DevOps tools: Git, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Build Pipelines (YAML and Classic), and Artifacts
Data Storage Formats: XML, SQLite, Protocol Buffers
Familiar with common app architectures: MVVM, MVC, MVU
Experience with dependency management, packaging technologies (NuGet and Maven), and semantic versioning
Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD for software applications and components
Experience with requirements analysis and creating and maintaining an agile backlog
Experience building, optimizing, signing, and releasing Android apps
Ability to review code pull requests for standards, patterns, practices, and architecture boundaries
Ability to support of rough order of magnitude estimates for development efforts
DESIRED:
Aviation Mission Planning, Performance Planning, Flight Performance Modeling, Weight & Balance, Comms, Data Transfer Device/Data Transfer Card loading for all Army Aviation platforms
Familiar with AMPS, FalconView, XPlan, PFPS, and/or JMPS, ATAK
Experience with rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development
Familiar with map engine concepts regarding geolocated fixtures, graphics rendering, raster formats, and vector formats
Familiar with Map Data formats for overlays, elevation, vertical obstructions, sectionals, and imagery
Familiar with RTCA DO-178/278 requirements for airworthiness
Familiar with Aviation Mission Common Server (AMCS)
Familiar with User Experience concepts like wireframing, prototypes, user interviews, personas, accessibility, usability testing, and design systems (ex. Google's Material Design)
Familiar with Fortify code scanning and software security
Familiar with open source and software licensing
CLEARANCE: U.S. citizenship with an ACTIVE Secret Security clearance.
