Role and Responsibilities

THE POSITION

Were looking for a skilled Senior Engineer for our eCommerce direct-to-consumer Android app who is interested in building and extending our eCommerce platform. As a Senior Engineer, you will work with the product team, data analysis team, and other internal and external teams. You will help design and architect solutions to problems and lead the development effort using Android/Flutter, Java/Kotlin/Dart, REST/JSON and other modern technologies.

Specific responsibilities include:

As a part of the e-Commerce Android app team, you would:

• contribute in requirements, design, development & unit testing of cutting-edge features on top of Samsung eCommerce platform

• collaborate with fellow team members & hiring manager on technical discussions, peer reviews

• work closely with PMs, UX designers & platform teams in US and India on day-to-day basis

• work closely with QA team in US and India to maintain software quality

• monitor, analyze and report production issues

• mentor junior engineers, provide them support to be able to tackle complex situations

Skills and Qualifications

Background & Competencies Required:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science

• 8 10 years of solid experience in Mobile application development

• Highly efficient in Algorithm, Data Structures & OO design methodologies

• Must be an expert in Java, Android UI & FW, AndroidX library, Android build system with 5+ years of recent experience in working with Activity, Fragment, RecyclerView, CoordinatorLayout, ConstraintLayout, FrameLayout, Webview, Loaders, AsyncTask

• Good ~2yrs experience in Flutter UI toolkit and DART language

• Clear understanding of XML, Json, REST API, HTTP/HTTPS

• Hands on with Git, Jira, Android Studio

• Excellent reasoning & analytical skills

• Good understanding of Open source libraries, licenses & usages

• Experience in long running projects and good understanding of project & software life cycles

• Experience in agile methodology & scrum

• Excellent coding standards and always look for generic, scalable & optimal solutions to problems

• Complete team player, ready to take up challenges and open to changes

• Experience in leading a small set of engineers is a plus
