Responsible for electronics hardware development for eAxle controls applications from concept to production. Project lead for ECU hardware and subject matter expert in a cross-functional controls engineering group, developing ECU hardware and control software for electrified drivetrain systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the entire design cycle of ECU for automotive application; including requirements definition; specifications, design release, prototype, validation and production launch support with key supplier partners.
Capture customer and internal requirements to create and release ECU specifications internally and to external ECU HW suppliers
Lead ECU design reviews with internal cross-functional engineering group, suppliers and customers.
Provide project guidance to validation engineers to develop ECU test specifications and DVP&Rs
Lead development of electronics DFMEAs and provide input to system DFMEAs
Develop ISO 26262 work products to meet electrified powertrain functional safety compliance
Provide input to DVP&Rs in coordination with validation engineers
Release all required ECU technical documents
Collaborate with software and mechatronic teams in order to find cross-functional solutions
Lead ECU diagnostics, teardown and warranty analysis
Lead customer interface for electronics through the development cycle and post production support
Support manufacturing and coordinate prototype builds and vehicle builds
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years of electronics hardware design experience in automotive industry
Experience developing ECU specifications from system and customer requirements
Experience with software, modeling and simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink
Experience with power-electronics and high voltage traction inverter
Experience with low voltage wiring systems and harness design
Experience with real time controls for powertrain control modules
Experience with CAN, LIN, UART serial communication systems
Expertise in HW design tools such as Altium, Mentor Graphics, Or CAD or similar
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of electronics hardware design or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
Experience with embedded platforms, microcontrollers, A/D converters and digital logic
Experience with controlling automotive BLDC motors, solenoids and sensors
Experience with automotive EMC/EMI testing
Solid understanding of electronics manufacturing techniques, including surface-mount devices, reflow, wave, robotic, and selective solder processes.
Experience developing FTA, DFMEA, FIT analysis to meet ISO 26262 Functional Safety requirements for electronic hardware
