SR Python Developer / Software Engineer III - Fixed Income Technology

**Job Description:**



+ Participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex applications

+ Proficient in translating business requirements to design, develop test, deploy and support data maintenance workflows

+ Develop and maintain Real Time Server framework using for Trading

+ Analyze and evaluate the Infrastructure requirements needs for trading application, work across teams to address infrastructure capacity requirements.

+ Experience architecting/designing end-to-end application flows.

+ Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills

+ Experience with implementation and release management activities

+ Good understanding of unit, integration and functional testing

+ Understanding of full software development life cycle

+ Ability to effectively communicate with business, technology partners and senior management

+ Monitor production applications, set up monitoring and respond to alerts appropriately

+ Strong programming experience with Python, Object Oriented Programming, server side development, database technologies and SQL.

+ Follow enterprise coding standards and execute on best practices to build processes



Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.



**Required Skills**



+ Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or Equivalent professional experience

+ 5-10 years of Hands-on Software Development experience in Python, Excel/VBA development experience, database technologies such as Exadata, Sybase and SQL Server.

+ Good understanding on OOP fundamentals, Data structures, Design patterns.

+ Ability to analyze, design, develop and troubleshoot new and existing applications.

+ Responsible for application development and overnight stability



**Desired Skills**



+ Manage interactions across multiple functions like Development, QA, Operations and Risk and ensure smooth delivery.

+ Work with geographically disbursed groups.

+ Good working knowledge of software configuration management systems - bug tracking, source control, build management (JIRA/CVS
