**Job Description Summary**
This role is to lead a Tooling Design team based in India and has the responsibility to further development of line equipment and tooling for blade manufacturing, act as support function for equipment already implemented / in operation at our LM Wind Power plants globally.
The department works close together with the system responsible (blade engineering & blade manufacturing process teams) on new developments.
Specifically, the department objective is to ensure that line equipment and tooling are developed in compliance with applicable norms and standard, ensure that line equipment and tools delivered on time and according to excepted performance level. Among other, providing plans and training to end-user of the equipment.
Focus is on VoC, health & safety consider in all aspect during development and operation of the equipment, ensue reliability and the capability of the equipment.
The Senior Technical Manager reports functionally and operationally to the Director of tooling engineering.
The Senior Technical Manager leads a team of around 6 to 10 engineers, (tooling specialists)
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Contribute to define the global strategy for Manufacturing Equipment and securing LMs long term growth and manufacturing capability.
+ Ensure safety of the personnel as number one priority for the team as part of SQDC framework (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost)
+ Ensure line equipment and tooling Design for Safety, Quality, Reliability and Maintainability for all New products and Retrofits as per requirements
+ Ensure VoC captured, align expectations towards customer, having strong moral and ensure our deliveries
+ Alignment with system responsible (horizontals), execute cross functional workshops and establish work streams to support execution of our targets
+ Collaborate closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Plant teams to understand their requirements and develop and implement solutions that are feasible in the prototype /serial production.
+ Ownership, technical dossier, cradle to grave accountability, from specification to training documentation packaged for line equipment
+ Ensure strong Technical Requirements Documentation for line equipment and tooling
+ Ensure Controlled documentation availability for assigned equipment, CAD, Bill of Materials, Spare parts list, Training materials, Maintenance Manuals, Detailed Work instructions and user Manuals for operators.
+ Coordinate, Track, manage projects End to End for complete systems design and implementation for key Equipment used in blade manufacturing as per LM Stage gate process, drive detailed project plans, DFMEA/ PFMEA, Proactive communication risks throughout the execution of project, leading by example
+ Facilitate and execute RCA, ensure lessons learned and knowledge sharing across the team and stakeholders
+ Contribute to development of localization strategy and ensure LCC sourcing, explore local opportunities, driver cost out together with sourcing, maintain pipeline
+ Contribute to strengthen our foundation, Safety, Quality, Integrity & Equality. Close cooperation with local and global EHS, ensure compliance to standards, CE marking, conduct design review and risk assessment. Ensure FAT and Sat execution, including validation of CTQs and performance level.
+ Drive standard work for the assigned processes across LM Plants worldwide
**Daily management**
+ Team management, ensure high performance and execute performance reviews
+ Participate in daily planning meetings, ensure proper delegation of task / projects, execute regular load meetings with all direct reports, ensure efficient utilization of resources
+ Execute regular touch point with direct reports, ensure development plan in place for all direct reports
+ Contribute to monthly meetings, status update ongoing projects/gate overview, ownership safety moment, ownership lessons learned and knowledge sharing
+ Contribute to accelerate a lean mindset across the organization, develop team capabilities, ensure that we speak the same language across the org when it comes to Lean technics and methodology
+ FAT, SAT & validation approver
**Required Qualifications**
+ BE/BTech/MTech in Mechanical/equivalent engineering discipline
+ 10+ year of experience in mechanical system, tooling design for industrial applications like Composite manufacturing, line equipment, lifting application, installations, service, maintenance etc
+ Experience in People leadership with multi-cultural/ ethnic global teams
+ Experience in leading projects for complete systems design, including the integration with factories from cradle to grave ownership

**Key skills for Senior Technical Manager tooling engineering**
+ Knowledge of Machine design, concepts of automation, blade manufacturing equipment, industrialization, Strength of Materials and basics of Hydraulic system.
+ Understanding of the CE marking or relevant standard like EN, DNV-GL, ISO etc.,
+ Working knowledge of CAD software: NX Unigraphics, Solid works, AutoCAD, Catia, and Axapta / PDM (team center)
+ Application of Risk analysis technique like DFEMA/PFEMA.
+ Lean or Lean Six Sigma (DFSS/DMAIC) training preferred
+ Knowledge about HSE standard & industrial Ergonomics
+ Familiar with structured problem-solving techniques
