**Essential Functions / Responsibilities:**



**Staff Software Engineer (Multiple Positions)** will work with a cross functional global team of engineers, scientists and applications experts to translate high level Positron Emission Tomography (PET) with Magnetic Resonance (MR) application needs that demand new acquisition and reconstruction capabilities into component-level requirements, Design and implement solutions to complex data management and distributed processing software problems in the acquisition and reconstruction platform domain in accordance with established software development practices and processes, Plan and perform integration activities at component, sub-system and system level, Document designs and verification activities, perform component & subsystem level verifications, participate in system level verifications and validations as necessary, Facilitate the use of the latest tools, techniques and development environments that enhance team productivity, share best practices with other software engineering groups within GE Healthcare, Understand research and industry trends in PET MR acquisition, reconstruction and MR image processing applications, Support and train MR scientist in the development and research of advanced acquisition and reconstruction techniques, Interact with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms, Design and build strong testing infrastructure to minimize dependency on hardware availability, Provide technical leadership to small agile team of 3-6 engineers, Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables and Leverage Design for software reuse, Agile and Lean software development methodologies to drive reliability upstream into the product development life cycle.



**Qualifications / Requirements:**



The position requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Computer-based field and 9 years of progressively responsible, post-bachelors degree related software development experience. Position also requires: 7 years of experience developing software in the Healthcare field or similar regulated industry; 9 years of experience developing software for complex systems or computerized products; 9 years of experience in the software development cycle or automated testing; 9 years of experience in object-oriented design methodology using C++ in production software environment; 9 years of experience with configuration management tools; 5 years of experience with PET Medical Imaging software; 2 years of experience with MATLAB or equivalent scientific modeling tools and packages; 5 years of experience with requirements management tools; 7 years of experience troubleshooting production systems issues. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at GE Precision Healthcare LLCs Waukesha, WI location.
