Staff Software Engineer – UI Technical Lead
Are you an experienced UI engineer passionate about the front-end user experience and has a proven track record of delivering elegant, intuitive web-based UIs for enterprise applications to join our Cloud and Mobile Engineering Team? This team is responsible for building a next generation software platform using a modern technology stack for a cloud-based remote patient monitoring system. In this journey we are replacing/refactoring our existing software with a domain-driven design and micro-service-based architecture and modern UI.
This team is part of a culturally diverse global team sharing the same goal, and is comprised of highly skilled, experienced, motivated, ever-curious, and thus ever-learning individuals. As part of this team, you will design, develop, and document software applications used to process and display medical device data.
Primary Responsibilities:
Â
Design and implement intuitive, maintainable, responsive web application UI’s using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
Design and implement elegant solutions that are performant, scalable, and maintainable
Collaborate with fellow engineers, UX, and Product on UX and interaction designs
Consume supporting REST APIs and interact closely with microservices teams
Review 3rd-party libraries for technical feasibility and legal adherence
Provide day-to-day technical leadership; leverage professional experience to recommend best practices, systems, and architectures.
Develop formal documentation on UI development processes and standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX, Regulatory, and project management
Translate requirements and vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver on required timelines and quality standards
Debug, troubleshoot, and isolate software problems as well as offers strategic solutions, analysis, and advice regarding identified issues for future development
Assist in the hiring process for new team members
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors/ Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Information Science or “STEM†Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
8+ years of Front-End Development Skills (HTML5, SCSS, Typescript, Angular 4+, Webpack, APIs) – preferably in regulated environment
Modern JavaScript frameworks: Angular, React or Vue
Test-Driven Development (TDD) using modern technologies (Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, etc.)
Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex cross-browser compatibility issues
Demonstrated experience in utilizing component-driven architecture
Good understanding of data structure and algorithms
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Agility to adapt to technologies and processes quickly
Nice to Have:
Experience with at least one back-end web technology, potentially including Go, Java, .Net, Ruby on Rails
Experience integrating with container-based microservices on the backend, in a Kubernetes environment
