Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) develops and maintains the systems required to ensure vendors meet the expectations of Cook Polymer Technology. The role strives to mitigate risk of potential quality issues and works to ensure uninterrupted supply of material and
components to Operations.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain robust supplier quality program in alignment with
Cook Global per QIQUA-00043
Integrate risk management into all facets of supplier quality and
management per QIQUA-00042
Review new and revised material and product purchasing specifications
per QS004
Lead / coordinate supplier quality investigations; Draw from supplier
expertise
Oversee supplier change management
Supports / leads new supplier qualification
Attends weekly purchased product nonconformance meetings per
QIQUA-00041
Support / lead supplier quality audits
Resolve incoming quality inspection supplier discrepancies per QS021
Provide engineering support to the incoming inspection function
Manage Supplier CAPAs; CAPA Sponsor or team member as assigned
per QS018
Develop and monitor supplier performance metrics for trends
Provide supplier quality performance metrics to Management Review
Perform or concur with QE risk assessments per QIQUA-00042
Lead, sponsor, or complete assigned, related CAPAs
Special projects support when deemed necessary
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors in Engineering or technical field
Experience
5+ years of work related to supplier quality assurance
Less experience may be required depending on the level of formal education
Knowledge
Understanding of the principles of quality assurance and quality engineering including root cause analysis
Understanding quality tools and methodologies including inspection, testing, measurement and monitoring product /processes, validation concepts
Understanding of risk management and mitigation activities throughout the purchase product or material realization process
Skills
Proficiency at using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proficient in effectively applying quality tools and methodologies including inspection, testing, measurement and monitoring product/processes, validation concepts.
Able to work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others
Effective oral and written communication skills
