System Software/Infrastructure Engineer
THE TEAM:
Datacenter System Management Unit (SMU DC) team.
THE ROLE:
We are a cutting-edge hardware and firmware focused team engaged on leading Data Center Graphic/Compute Processing Units and Machine Intelligence Processing Units. The team is passionate in system management End2End on SOC with duties ranging from hardware and firmware design, pre-silicon emulation, design validation, power/perf data analysis, and modeling.Also, the team works with the latest MLSE, HPC and cloud gaming applications on Power/Perf optimization to create the most compatible product in the market.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a team on developing software infrastructure including pipeline, data-processing, automation tools and performance/power modeling and predication. In this role, there will also an opportunity to involve with firmware and software design, data analysis and machine learning skills. You will get a chance to see how your software impact on AMD data center GPUs.
THE PERSON:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
3+ years of experience working in software/data science industry
Use Python and SQL to analyze daily/nightly regression data to understand and predict better system power
Apply machine learning techniques and algorithms to build system power and performance models
Design and develop firmware regression infrastructure and visualizations to monitor model performance and firmware quality
REQUIRED SKILL:
BASc/BSc (or greater) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar program with focus on Software Engineering.
Excellent programming skills with demonstrated experience in Python and SQL
Good foundational understanding of operating system and computer network
Fast learner adaptable and self-starter who can work in dynamic team environment. Strong problem solving and debugging skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience analyzing and manipulating large data sets for team needs
Experience building and maintaining continuous integration and deployment pipeline
Experience with any machine learning frameworks (i.e., TensorFlow or PyTorch) will be an asset.
Experience with MCU or embedded software will be an asset
Experience with python web back-end framework (i.e., Flask or Django) will be an asset.
Experience deploying and maintaining on large-scale system clusters will be an asset.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor or Master's degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science
