As a Technology Engineer within PNC's C&IB organization. This is a remote position and can sit anywhere within the PNC footprint, except for Colorado, Hawaii or Alaska. There is limited expectation for regular in person, in office activities.

The role involves the following specific tasks:

Lead the technical design and development of cross-funtional, multi-platform application systems using IBM stack of technologies such as IBM Integration Bus, experience with ACE helpful.
Execute complex projects/initiatives including Technology Architecture, Design, Development, Testing and Release Management.
Analyze technical feasibility through proof of concepts.
Coordinate coding, testing, implementation and documentation of application solutions. Mentor the development team and perform design and code reviews.
Perform complex application programming activities including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining, and modifying the complex application programs.
Translate business requirements into technical requirement and solutions by planning, developing and refining, to-be architectures.

The person filling this position should have at least 3 years of experience in a position requiring use of the following skills:

Planning, design, development, testing and release management of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) based applications.
Design and development of enterprise level SOA based applications in IBM Integration Bus (IIB) or Websphere Message Broker (WMB) or ACE, IBM MQ and databases such as Oracle, SQL Server or DB2.
Design and development of enterprise-wide REST and SOAP based services.
Design and development of scalable, resilient and agile application integrations.
Experience in WTX/ITX is an added advantage.
Experience in Java, Openshift and/or related technologies is an added advantage

  • Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Assists with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions.

  • Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives.

  • May provide consultation on common issues and best practices for junior staff.

  • Provides a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered.

  • Ensures quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes.

Work Experience



Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
