Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Transit Architecture Lead to be based in our New York Metro office.

The Transit Architecture Lead will be responsible for the following items:

  • Provides architectural technical and management leadership for transit architecture

  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative

  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with senior-level architects and/or designers within the company and with key officials of other organizations and companies, and is skilled in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues

  • At this level, individuals will have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature architectural judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual structure/design problems, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse activities

  • Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits

  • Leads the transit architecture practice and pursuits, collaborating with the AECOM transportation leadership

AECOMs Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Architecture plus twelve (12) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership

  • Architecture License is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 years experience as an architect in New York Metro

  • Has strong relationships with NY Metro transit agencies

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Software: Revit, Autocad, MS Excel and Word

Additional Information
