The High-Performance Computing (HPC) team at Target has built products ranging from real-time data streaming to neural computing. We enable teams at Target to stream, filter, transform, and analyze high-bandwidth data in real-time, and also provide tools for data engineers and other team members to analyze and take action on their data. We also research the capabilities of next generation computer hardware, architectures, and algorithms in order to: build enterprise grade, efficient products and provide guidance on building scalable, fully utilized infrastructures.
You will be working with a small team of HPC experts who have more than 20 years of experience in the HPC domain. We play a critical role in enabling Target to create cutting edge deep learning algorithms and scale real-time streaming products. As the lead C++ engineer of HPC, you will have the opportunity to create the vision for and drive the adoption of products that run on state-of-the-art high-performance computing algorithms. This is a great opportunity for leaders with a passion for creating value by leveraging HPC and data engineering to solve the most complex low latency problems in retail.Â
What will you be doing:
As an Engineer on the High-Performance Computing team at Target, you serve as a specialist that supports, designs and creates UI for high performance computing solutions that serve an enterprise of over 350,000 team members and millions of customers. You will be designing an extremely efficient development workflow for Frontend applications that conform to enterprise patterns.
Interacting with users by participating in product surveys to get iterative feedback on usability index of the UI solutions.
Requirements:
Highly productive, self-starter and self-motivated.Â
General understanding of CI/CD Practices (e.g., Git/GitHub/GitLab, Drone, private/public cloud) and experience with Container Orchestration solutions like Docker, Kubernetes.Â
Ability to communicate technical terms to non-technical audienceÂ
Ability to clearly articulate thoughts and ideas to stakeholders and partnersÂ
Design new testing methods and resolve routine and non-routine technical issuesÂ
Builds strong commitment within the team to support the appropriate team prioritiesÂ
Able to adhere to the agile concepts of software development.
Good understanding of RESTFUL APIs and Serverless infrastructure.Â
Good understanding of React Stack (React, Redux, Sagas), D3JS, NodeJs (express framework), CSS pre-processor, and JSON operationsÂ
Ability to use code version tool such as Git.
Comfortable in using Linux and its command line tools.
Proficient in at least one programming language.
This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Â
Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $64,600 to $116,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
