Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Urban Planner/ Urban Designer for employment in the Philadelphia, PA office. The candidate will work collaboratively with planning and communications staff to support a variety of planning projects, including transportation planning, community outreach, and urban design.

Responsibilities could include:

• Preparation of display boards, planning documents or renderings

• Support for in-person or virtual public outreach, including venue selection, minutes, and preparation of public-facing communications

• 3-D modeling and visualization using a variety of software packages, including InDesign, SketchUp, Lumion, and AutoCAD

• Preparation of illustrative mapping and graphics

• Research for planning reports and documents

• Interaction with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM

• Working effectively in team situations and establishing strong relationships with other discipline teams

• Under direct supervision, conducting field evaluations and assessments

This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of AECOM.

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in transportation/urban planning, geography, environmental sciences, public policy, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in transportation, urban, or community planning, or urban design

• Proficiency with graphics/visualization platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to interact with stakeholders for project outreach activities

• Ability to work on assignments with minimal supervision

• Experience with technical writing and/or public-facing communications

• Knowledge of ArcGIS

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
