**About the Team**


Global Public Affairs seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders, including our colleagues. The Business and Corporate Communications team is a nimble team in Global Public Affairs that covers a broad scope of responsibilities, ranging from executive communications and public engagements to quarterly earnings and corporate reputation programs as well as communications that support our lines of business. The nature of the work provides a dynamic environment where members of the team serve as company spokespeople to media, drive engagement with colleagues and develop external and internal digital communications for a global workforce of more than 200,000 colleagues. Within Citi, the team works with many internal partners, including senior leadership, and regularly coordinates closely with other members of the Global Public Affairs team across the world.

**About the Role**


The VP, News & Storytelling will help Citis 250,000 global colleagues to better understand Citis strategy, goals, and workplace through strategic and engaging internal communication approaches. Working colleagues from across the company, this role will help develop & drive excellent storytelling and content creation that engages internal audiences through a variety of channels, mediums, and locations. This role will also play a critical role in reimagining how Citi can continually raise the bar in how we inform and connect with employees in big and small ways.


**Responsibilities** **:**


+ In partnership with the Director of News & Storytelling, support & help drive a cohesive, strategic, global approach to effective global internal communications at Citi

+ Write and edit internal news articles, video scripts, senior leader messages, talking points, internal marketing materials and more

+ Support colleagues in writing more effectively for a globally diverse audience

+ Weave together corporate messages, business-level strategic priorities and human-interest content into materials that inspire and inform employees

+ Support the creation of strategic communication plans and provide counsel on best communication approaches

+ Assist with global special projects, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders

+ Work closely with the Global Communications, Digital Communications, and Media Services & Content to create compelling content across a variety of audiences & channels

+ Ensure appropriate measurement & enhancements of tactics that drive strategic communication results

+ Assemble and distribute a weekly global newsletter that speaks to employees across business lines and regions, as well as associated intranet content

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards


**Qualifications:**


+ 5-7 years of professional experience, preferably in journalism, marketing, corporate communications, or related field within a global, complex organization

+ Proven experience participating in communication strategy development and translating those strategies into actionable plans.

+ Intellectually curious and demonstrates superior writing, editing and research skills, with an obsessive attention to detail.

+ Excellent organizational and project management skills

+ Possesses integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude

+ Thinks creatively, approaches communications from new angles and has an instinctive distaste for wordiness, corporate jargon and flat prose.

+ Ability to learn complex financial and business topics quickly and translate them into compelling narratives.

+ Dedicated team player with strong relationship management skills and can motivate others to contribute.

+ Thrives under pressure and can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

+ Comfortable with multi-channel storytelling, including digital and social media.

+ Light graphic design and web production knowledge.
