The key objective of the R&D team is to ensure the design quality and reliability of the real-time turbomachinery control system. The target system typically consists of an embedded controller interfaced by a Windows-based HMI server running first-party applications, and third-party HMI clients. The Windows System Administrator Engineer will be responsible for the test, verification, and validation of this control system, with focus on networking and system administration. This person will stage and maintain test beds and testing tools in the R&D laboratory. This person will develop test plans and complete reporting documents.
The Windows System Administrator Engineer will bring the knowledge and experience of networking and system administration to maintain the R&D IT system for security, reliability, and policy compliance. The R&D IT system includes both physical and virtual machines, as well as associated physical and virtual networks.
The Windows System Administrator Engineer will interact with R&D development teams and company IT department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Listed in order of relevance:
Design and maintain R&D IT system.
Develop test verification and validation procedures for control products and systems.
Testing, verification and validation of the control products and systems for functionality, performance, reliability and usability.
Provide technical support for both internal and external customers.
Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
BS degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or equivalent technical degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years working experience in the System Administration and Networking.
Preferred experience in engineering or testing ofindustrial control systems.
Preferred experience in the Human-Machine Interface (HMI), Open Platform Communications (OPC).
Experience in the Test Automation Tools (Ranorex or equal) is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge of Windows System Administration (Active Directory, WSUS, SMB, etc.), Virtualization (VMware vSphere) and Networking (Cisco IOS)
Knowledge of various testing and verification techniques required.
Ability to read, speak, and write in English required.
