Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to help support the JSP ETM program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Due to the nature of work that this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed.
Key Responsibilities:
Servers and Workstations - (e.g., Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 R2, Windows 2016, Windows 7, and Windows 10)
Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains and creates system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space.
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Administration support for Tiers 1-4 (Windows, Windows Server, and VMWare).
Coordinate with TIER 3 factory support for elevation, monitoring and management.
Operate, maintain and manage Windows based systems supporting an operational environment
Overall day-to-day operations of the Windows environment
Data backup and recovery
Monitor, manage and maintain all Windows based servers
Manage and maintain all Windows server based applications
Create and maintain environment specific standard operating processes and procedures
Experience with windows patching in an operational environment
Ensure all Windows based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
Create, manage, and maintain accounts and group membership in Active Directory
Understanding and working knowledge of some or all IT fundamentals hardware (servers, switches, routers, etc.), software, networks (ports and services), databases, SAN storage, applications
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
Required Qualifications:
Top Secret Clearance
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
Bachelors Degree
5+ years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced Windows System Administration with a high level of VMWare proficiency.
Experience loading ESXi hosts, building/upgrading/patching VMWare clusters and VMWare performance tuning/troubleshooting.
Experience with providing Tier III resolutions for complex customer issues.
