Position Summary

The Video Production Specialist will be responsible for all post-production edits on our video footage, including conference highlights, webinar editing, promos, and social media content. We're looking for a fresh, multi-faceted candidate with strong storytelling capabilities who is current on social media video trends. The candidate should have an excellent working knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere and basic working knowledge of After Effects or Apple Motion. The candidate will serve as the primary videographer in studio or on location as needed; experience in videography and photography for social content and knowledge of Canon cameras is a plus. Video shoots will be planned around other main responsibilities. The Video Production Specialist will report to the Video Production Manager and provide support to others on the Marketing and Communications team by contributing to the overall creative process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Video Production Manager, VP of Production, and Marketing and Communications managers to create successful video content while acting as expert for all postproduction needs.

  • Edit, color grade, sound mix, and export final deliverables autonomously.

  • Pack and archive all assets: raw footage, project files, and final deliverables.

  • Shoot and direct in-studio and on location video projects.

  • Communicate pre and post workflows both internally and with outside vendors.

  • Operate camera, lighting, and tech assist in studio.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 2 years of film/video production experience

  • Digital portfolio of professional work

  • Proficient in Final Cut Pro X as well as Adobe CC suite of products (primarily Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects); comfortable in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Other non-linear editing programs as necessary

  • Knowledge/experience with photography

  • Experience with documentary video practices as well as field and studio lighting

  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and lift/carry camera equipment and related equipment.

Attributes/Skills Required:

  • Knowledge/experience with Canon equipment

  • Proficiency in video production from ideation, pre-production, and scripting to editing and delivery

  • Ability to provide editorial judgment during the production process to ensure final product is on-brand and on-message, understanding that creative projects should align with the organization's mission and key goals

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, independently and with varying levels of direction

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent project demands with quick turnaround times

  • Patient and persistent, curious, comfortable in asking and receiving questions

  • Must be self-motivated

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Foster open communication and provide consistent and constructive feedback with other team members and supervisor to elevate our storytelling and strengthen relationships with program experts.
