KPMG is currently seeking a Managing Director, to join our Risk Management organization.


Responsibilities:


+ Apply authoritative and unique command of professional standards and firm risk policies to drive Risk Management policy guidance and to resolve highly complex issues and questions regarding the application of such policy in the Service Lines or Centers of Excellence (COE) assigned

+ Oversee and ensure execution of periodic compliance activities to help ensure client engagement teams comply with firm requirements; act as primary contributor to innovation and continued improvement of RM Tax processes and guidance, materials and tools; creating high financial, client value, efficiency impact to the organization

+ Strategic and proactive responsibility to lead multiple complex projects, process or programs that impact the broader firm; evaluate courses of action within those projects or processes by applying understanding of business and risk management objectives to complex circumstances; and act as senior executive level escalation point ensuring business expectations, goals and objectives are met for all clients

+ Overall accountability for a team, including responsibility for the group's organization, recruiting, coaching and mentoring of staff; may have people management responsibility for multiple senior and/or intermediate level professionals, ensuring efficient allocation and maximum utilization of resources across the teams

+ Play primary and proactive role in establishing and driving achievement of the organization's strategic goals, objectives and priorities as aligned to those of Risk Management and the overall firm by applying a broad understanding of the overarching principles of Risk Management combined with business need

+ Interface with functional and Service Level leadership, combining 'soft hands', exceptional executive presence, a strong command of the issues and effective presentation skills


Qualifications:


+ Minimum fifteen years of recent related work experience in project management, risk management, IT security management, software development, IT operations and/or technology-related consulting

+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university

+ Experience with complex risk initiatives and programs in public accounting firm or equivalent, preferably focused on Tax

+ Ability to manage multiple complex concurrent programs, applying deep expertise to make concrete decisions that impact the Risk organization and the firm while addressing emerging opportunities and how organization should be organized/staffed to realize them

+ Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of various levels; strong written/verbal communication, organizational and critical thinking skills

+ Ability to direct, motivate and empower others to work towards the organization's goals, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across multiple functions; lead and ensure execution of strategic initiatives for the organization
