Actuarial Analyst- Valuation, Chubb Life

Chubb Life offers a range of life insurance solutions offering protection, savings, accident & health, credit protection, and group employee coverages and benefits, distributed via an agency force of 100,000 agents, as well as independent agents, brokers, financial advisors, banks, digital channels and other distribution partners.




This role is part of the global actuarial team, headquartered in Jersey City, that oversees in country actuarial functions. It will report to the AVP of Valuation.




Responsibilities:




  • Support the implementation of various initiatives designed to enhance the quality and efficiency of local country actuarial reporting processes.



  • Work as part of the global actuarial valuation team on the execution of methods and establishment of standards for the life segment that are consistent with company philosophy and objectives.



  • Support the analysis and recommendation of valuation assumptions for various life insurance products based on detailed experience study analysis.



  • Assume responsibility for the integrity, timeliness and accuracy of liability calculations used in US GAAP reporting, management reporting and forecasts.



  • Develop and execute reporting processes to monitor KPIs to support the analysis of profitability trends in portfolios of operating countries.



  • Support the annual & strategic planning process.




  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries



  • A minimum of 4 years of actuarial experience in the life insurance industry



  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP financial reporting processes



  • Understanding of other reporting regimes (e.g. local, IFRS) is a plus



  • Experience with actuarial modeling software, preferably Prophet



  • Interest in programming languages, i.e., Visual Basic, SQL etc.




In addition, the applicant should possess the following:




  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to effectively present and explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience



  • Commitment to understanding the actuarial and commercial aspects of the life insurance industry which are crucial for the successful operation of a global life company in developing international markets in Latin America, Asia and Europe



  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize as manage various projects and resources as needed



  • Dynamic and enthusiastic, with capacity to work independently in a small team environment and take initiative



  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work extended hours and weekends when required
