Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to regularly sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time. Occasional job-related travel may be required (less than 10% of time). Shift Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additional evening/weekend hours may occasionally be required in order to meet job and departmental business needs. Job Summary The UK HealthCare and College of Medicine Philanthropy department is seeking a Senior Communications Associate to support the Director of Donor Communications and Engagement in the planning and implementation of a strategic communication plan for donors and natural partners. The Senior Communications Associate will help prepare materials that inspire donors to support UK HealthCare’s vital mission, including (but not limited to) patient stories, direct mail pieces, proposals, cases for support, blog posts, and staff communications. S/he will also be expected to manage elements of a communication plan under supervision of the Director, such as the development of a content calendar for blog posts, and coordinate closely with the Stewardship team. The successful candidate for this role will have impeccable oral and written communication skills and the ability to adapt to writing in the philanthropic voice. Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is a must. Competency in PowerPoint is important; rudimentary knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Canva) and/or video editing (iMovie) a plus but not required.
