**Role Description**
Business Advisory Services (BAS) is a Strategic Thought Leadership and Advisory team within the Financial Institution Sales and Solutions function within Citi Markets. The team provides strategic advice based on proprietary thought leadership to the C-Suite and executive management teams of Markets investor clients across a broad range of topics specific to the global investment management industry. Clients include the worlds leading Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Private Equity Firms, Wealth Management Firms, Pension Funds, Endowments & Foundations, and Sovereign Wealth Funds.
The team produces regular primary Thought Leadership reports that explore different topics across the investment management landscape and are used to highlight and discuss key trends impacting the overall industry. Based on the views presented in the thought leadership, the team also provides Advisory and Consulting services to select external clients and Citi stakeholders. The team interacts across other Citi business lines including Citi Ventures, Citi Global Wealth, BCMA, and Global Securities Services.
As head of the NAM BAS franchise, the chosen individual will operate in tandem with the global team to contribute region-specific insights to global reports and to create region-focused content that provides deeper insights into industry situations specific to NAM clients. The individual will also be able to support local market advisory and consulting requests, drawing on support from the global team.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ As part of BAS leadership, the candidate will contribute to the overall direction and goals of the global team and will be the primary driver of the agenda for NAM in particular. This will include regular engagement and planning with the senior management of Citi Markets & Investor Sales and direct coordination with the NAM Heads of FISS and Global Relationship Management in particular.
+ Lead and take part in the creation of primary Thought-Leadership on the investment management industry and oversee the production process for new materials. This requires the ability to think conceptually and model the future as the team explores different topic areas. Conceptualize, create, and execute the entire distribution model for thought leadership content creation from team brainstorming strategies to writing and editing content materials.
+ Interact with the C-Suite and Executive management teams of our Platinum Investor clients, delivering new content, discussing the implications, and acting as a strategic advisor to their teams. Client engagement constitutes 60-70% of the effort for the role and is seen as a key requirement for the role, therefore presentational capabilities, interpersonal skills and ability to interact at this level are seen as essential. This will likely require some regular travel across the NAM region to visit clients in their home offices as well as occasional travel to EMEA and APAC to coordinate with local clients or members of the global team.
+ Provide NAM-specific inputs for global BAS consulting projects and act as point for the global team on local NAM consulting projects commissioned by Platinum clients. This includes project shaping, scope management, quality assurance and the establishment of new policies and procedures that could enable the receipt of direct monetary compensation for consulting services rendered in select circumstances.
+ Upon invitation, participate in clients strategic planning and executive sessions and more broadly represent BAS at industry conferences and events, including Citi events. Comfort with presenting and facilitating in front of large audiences is a must-have skill.
+ Manage and lead a team of individual contributors at various developmental stages (Directors, VPs, Associates, Analysts, etc.) Generate coaching and career plans to advance talent development for all members of the team, in partnership with the Global Head. Work closely to align and distribute workflows across regions and team members.

+ **Confident Strategic Advisor** to C-Suite executives able to deliver primary content to senior audiences, field a broad array of questions, interpret client needs and shape advice on the fly in high pressure situations.
+ **Complementary Management Consultancy skills** , being able to structure, initiate and execute projects using minimal resources for maximum impact and balancing competing objectives and demands.
+ **Ability to quickly build networks and operate effectively in a large firm,** balancing the needs of a variety of stakeholders and navigating across businesses and different teams to simultaneously deliver on BAS, client, and franchise goals.
+ **Ability to manage and coach** a small high caliber team and provide leadership and mentorship to talent at all levels.
**Experience:**
+ 15+ Years industry experience either Markets/Banking with a view across multiple investment products and services as well as an understanding of Asset Management and Hedge Fund businesses
+ Worked for a leading global Consulting business or in a strategic planning role in a leading Banking, Sell-Side or Buy-Side franchise
