The individual will be part of the Global Investment Strategy team within Prudentials CIO Organization. Prudentials Chief Investment Office is responsible for:
Construction of portfolios to support Prudentials insurance liabilities
Multiple hedge programs for Prudentials Annuities, Life and Retirement businesses
All derivative and foreign exchange activity for asset liability management purposes
Prudentials alternative asset investing activities
As a key member of Quantitative Modeling team, this individual will be responsible for development and deployment of best-in-class risk analytics including stochastic asset-liability models, portfolio optimization tools and other capabilities to be utilized for strategic/tactical asset allocation, and special projects originated by Business Units and portfolio management team.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and enhance comprehensive asset-liability models for use in analysis of investment and hedging strategies
Design, build, and enhance optimization models
Utilize the aforementioned models, economic scenario generators, liability cash-flow models, and replicating portfolios to develop asset allocation and hedging strategies
Develop key insight into liability characteristics across the major product lines
Lead special projects that require quantitative expertise
Collaborate closely with investment risk, asset management, actuarial, Treasurers and finance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or higher degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or other quantitative fields. Quantitative Finance Degree preferable
Experience with financial engineering and pricing fixed-income assets
Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java, or C++ and knowledge of basic software-engineering concepts
Experience with optimizers and optimization techniques
Creative problem solver with an aptitude for complex technical work
Knowledge of and experience in designing asset-liability models is a plus
Knowledge of and experience with scripting programming languages such as Python or MatLab is a plus
