Job Description

Job Summary:

Support the Teledyne FLIR OEM customer base technically, with an emphasis on software. Primary technical contact for customers using FLIR OEM products. Role also includes engineering project activities, product validation, documentation, problem solving, presentations, and reporting.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Directly support Teledyne Flir UAS drone products and Lepton customers.

Create technical documentation such as application notes, test documentation, FAQs, user guides, and product specifications in support of FLIR's OEM products.

Assist in the product validation and release of various internal products, such as Lepton, drone related products, and SDK's for camera systems.

Identifies, analyzes, and resolves complex problems affecting our OEM products including various production related issues, design issues, and validation efforts.

Assists customers in their design, trouble shooting, and system applications using FLIR's OEM products.

Provide data analysis, reports, and feedback within engineering as requested.

Support assembly, testing and development activities for the OEM products group.

Support for the production line including yield improvements, process improvements and various efficiencies for our OEM&E products.

Provides support to production to ensure smooth operation and product flow to customers.

Support the systems engineering group as requested. Aids other systems engineers in the design and definition, and implementation of complex system requirements for OEM products.

Aids systems engineering in the development of system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

Brings the knowledge gained from working with different customers and markets back to the organization at FLIR so that we can better understand system requirements and make better products that are very well suited to the applications our customers are trying to solve.

Support varied customer applications (internal and external customers) for IR camera systems. The goal being to make our customers successful with our OEM products and provide profitable revenue streams for both parties.

Provide product training for customers, sales reps and other FLIR personnel.

Travel to demonstrate product features and capabilities, on-site support to bring products or systems on-line (domestic and international travel).

Support the sales team for various requests to capture new business and demonstrate our products, including attending OEM trade shows, events and visits to our customers.

Provides systems engineering and application support as directed to other more senior system engineers.

Assist with special assignments as requested.

Base Qualifications Needed:

Must be able to effectively communicate, analyze and solve complex problems.

Technical writing

Willingness to learn and apply new concepts to projects

Must be able to travel (domestic and international)

Software experience with Matlab or Python, and C/C++ with aptitude in applying software for problem solving and data analysis.

Domestic and International travel is required up to 25%. Must have valid passport and ability to travel to foreign countries, if required.

Strong overall computer skills required: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point, etc.

M echanical and electrical assembly competency

Must obtain FAA Part 107 remote pilot certification after hiring for commercial drone testing

Job Qualifications (Physics/Engineering/Computer Science Major):

BA/BS Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science (preferred)

Basic u nderstanding of Optics and electromechanical systems

Strong P rogramming skills (Python, C/C++)

Embedded systems experience
