Associate/VP, Global Markets Data Engineer

**Job Description:**
Global Markets Data Management Group is responsible for establishing data management strategy, data governance and deriving value from data for Global Markets. The team works closely with other groups within Global Markets, other lines of business and Enterprise functions.
Members of theGlobal Markets Business Data Officerteam are engaged in building a development platform (open data stack) and curated datasets (open data cubes) for use by Global Markets employees. The team drives strategic initiatives and projects in the areas of data management and governance.
The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of python, SQL and quartz, with experience of big-data platforms such as Cloudera, Azure, etc. Additionally good product knowledge will be key to driving use cases and ensuring data integrity.
**Role Responsibilities:**
+ Opportunity to work on key projects for the Global Markets Data Management Business Data Officer
+ Build/augment datasets, including external/internal transaction, reference and market for analytics and controls
+ Partner with Global Markets, Technology, Audit and other functions to help Global Markets innovate and maximize business value
+ Build a data quality, control and reconciliation framework to govern the datasets
+ Partner with Data Management to ensure data change and issue remediation
+ Build a data stack that allows quick turnaround of data products, this includes sandbox development, regression/unit testing, validation and access control
+ Drive a collaborative and output oriented culture
+ Stay up to date with the regulatory, political, and business environment in the region and have a view on how these impact finance, big data and technology.
**Required Skills:**
+ Advanced programming in C, C++, Java, C# or Python. BofA Quartz experience is appreciated
+ Knowledge of SQL
+ Experience of a big data platform (i.e. Cloudera, Azure)
+ Knowledge of Spark is beneficial
+ Strong numerate degree
+ Excellent ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely - in particular expertise in using appropriate metrics to communicate with senior management
+ Ideally previous experience with Excel/VBA, Bloomberg or Tableau
+ Work both as part of a team and independently with keen attention to detail
**Desired Skills:**
+ Some knowledges of cash and derivatives products, especially around pricing and characteristics
+ Familiarity with Dodd-Frank and other regulatory requirements, with an appreciation of issues impacting industry participants
