**Role Description**
Business Advisory Services (BAS (https://www.citivelocity.com/cv2/go/BusinessAdvisoryServices) ) is a strategic consulting team within the Investor Sales & Relationship Management function within Citi Markets. The team provides strategic advice based on proprietary thought leadership to the C-Suite and executive management teams of Markets investor clients across a broad range of topics impacting the global investment management industry. Clients include the worlds leading Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Private Equity Firms, Wealth Management Firms, Pension Funds, Endowments & Foundations, and Sovereign Wealth Funds.
The team produces regular primary Thought Leadership reports that explore different topics across the investment management landscape and are used to highlight and discuss key trends impacting the overall industry. Based on this perspective, the team also provides Advisory and Consulting Services to select clients. The team interacts across other Citi business lines and provides some internal consulting on strategic initiatives as they relate to the evolving requirements of investor clients of these divisions.
ESG cuts across all areas of strategic advice that BAS is involved in and is pivotal to the future of investment management. The individual will lead this focus area for the team and associated workstreams, being a subject matter expert on those topics, and how they relate to and impact key strategic themes for the industry, clients and the team.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Track and map developments across the ESG ecosystem and identify key implications for investor clients across the investment process, product development and delivery, and operational infrastructure. Highlight potentially significant changes and emerging trends as well as changes in established dynamics.
+ Lead BAS content pieces across ESG and provide key input for flagship BAS publications
+ As part of the broader team mandate, participate in the creation of primary Thought-Leadership on the investment management industry via interviews, brainstorm sessions, storyboarding, data analysis, and writing
+ Lead client sessions to deliver content around ESG themes and engage with the C-Suite and Executive management of our investor clients. These sessions will involve acting as a strategic advisor to the clients teams.
**Key Skills**
+ **ESG Credibility and Practical Passion:** Marrying a practical understanding of and a focused passion for ESG to knowledge of the Investment Management industry and associated business functions, including product manufacturing and distribution, will be essential This will require a solid conceptual understanding of both the industry management industry and participants as well as the ESG landscape with respect to products, technology and innovation, data and associated regional differences in demand, regulation, emphasis, economics and stage of development. Constantly expanding this knowledge, being able to separate the signal from the noise, and relating key developments in ESG to wider industry trends will be key to this role.
+ **Strong Writing and Presentation Skills:** Client communication is at the core of the Business Advisory Services offering, and the individual should be a proactive, detail-oriented communicator both with clients, and internally within the team and other Citi colleagues. The individual will be able to confidently and credibly deliver and apply Business Advisory Services ESG thought leadership, as well as broader work to various senior audiences and also engage in tailored and dynamic strategic advisory sessions. The individual will also be responsible for driving the BAS content agenda on ESG topics and the packaging and delivery to appropriate audiences.
+ **Conceptual Thinker:** The team is privileged to hear how an entire array of industry leaders think about their business, their competitive environment, their clients and the world. The individual should be able to listen to this input and identify how these views might indicate that the world is changing and apply such insight to envisioning how the future might unfold. Management consulting experience and/or experience with developing frameworks and models for industry growth and evolution will be a distinct advantage in advising and adding lasting value in client interactions.

**Experience**
+ A minimum of 5-7yrs relevant work experience in ESG within a financial services context.
