Position Summary


The Content & Services team is looking for a Director to lead Business Development and Strategy for Samsungs Service business. This role will be responsible for identifying and executing on strategic partnerships that drive revenue, enable new products and services, and enhance the user experience across Samsungs device ecosystem. This role will offer an opportunity to influence Samsungs cross-device service strategy and product roadmap and lead major initiatives within the company. The candidate should possess strong critical thinking and communication skills, should be equally comfortable negotiating agreements and collaborating on product, and should have experience leading complex, high-impact projects with cross-functional teams. The candidate should have some experience and interest in working at the cross-section of tech and media.


Role and Responsibilities


Responsibilities:

  • Source, define and execute on new and first-of-their kind partnership opportunities for the service business

  • Grow existing partnerships; identify new areas of collaboration and revenue opportunities with high value partners

  • Inform long-term strategy and product roadmap around key initiatives related to Voice/AI, the connected home, and new content experiences across the Mobile and TV business

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing and BD groups across Samsung Business Units to develop new partnership frameworks, products and revenue streams that leverage Samsungs ecosystem of devices

  • Activities will include: sourcing new partnership opportunities, defining and building business case for new service and product strategy, pitching partners and developing sales materials, drafting and negotiating legal agreements, managing project execution and post-execution account management


Skills and Qualifications


Preferred qualifications and skills:

  • 15 years of overall experience with Bachelor Degree required; MBA/JD preferred but not required

  • 7+ years of experience inand deep knowledge of the OTT and technology space

  • Strong written, verbal communication, presentation and analytical skills required

  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects

  • Experience leading complex, senior level negotiations; Experience communicating with and presenting to C-level leadership

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed product development documents and contracts

  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and defend opinions regarding market and competitive direction along with associated impact on company strategy

  • Ability to develop relationships internally and externally, identify and influence key stakeholders, and set new directions for the business

  • Excellent negotiation skills and extensive experience negotiating and redlining non-standard, multi-faceted contracts

  • Self-motivated with ability to work in an unstructured environment. Candidates will have a strong operational mindset with a decisive get it done and whatever it takes mentality.
