Partners with senior leadership, clinical leaders, and hospital executives to execute strategic and programmatic initiatives by managing the regulatory process. Provides in-depth insight and oversees initiatives that allows the department to move forward with projects aimed at growing the services and facilities within the health system. Provides team members and the department with advisory services, expertise, and knowledge regarding the regulatory approval process.

Job Responsibility

1.Provides advisory services on all applications that team members are required to submit to New York State for establishment, construction, renovation, and major medical equipment acquisitions of health system facilities.
2.Uses specialized knowledge to prepare New York State applications to obtain regulatory approval for expanded health system facilities and newly proposed programs.
3.Serves as subject matter expert for team members and leadership on the regulatory application process, including required documentation, submission, timeframe and overall process.
4.Monitors the flow of information around construction budgets and business plans for regulatory filings throughout the health system.
5.Oversees the correspondence between the health system and regulatory agencies to facilitate the application process for applicable regulatory filings.
6.Regularly oversees, monitors and tracks departmental projects from beginning to end, including deliverables, project status, and progress.
7.Continues to demonstrate knowledge on current regulations and requirements within the state and health system to communicate out to team members.
8.Stays abreast of any changes to hospital codes and communicates this to the department.
9.Assists with departmental survey preparation, survey requirements and the opening of new programs and facilities from a regulatory perspective.
10.Understands department objectives, goals, objectives and uses this knowledge to guide team members to obtain regulatory approval.
11.Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations.
12.Decisions may be guided by precedent, previous experience, and known professional guidelines and compliance requirements.
13.Required to interpret policies, standards, requirements, and approaches to meet work objectives.
14.Requires minimal direction, seeks guidance where needed and follows established guidelines/procedures.

Job Qualification
\r
1.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
2.1-3 years of technical experience, preferred.
