For the role of Distribution Operations Engineer, Disney Streaming is looking for a candidate specializing in caching technology, distributed networking, and operational experience in CDN edge services. This role will join the Media Distribution Technology organization as part of an operations team which manages and maintains Content Distribution systems and configurations alongside our Tier 1 and application development teams.
Areas of focus include:
+ Configure and manage application and system configurations across our growing distribution network
+ Actively review performance metrics across our caching infrastructure for improvements (in concert with engineering and performance management teams)
+ Review capacity and ensure alignment with global distribution strategy
+ Oversee Day-to-Day operations of content delivery system fleet
+ Oversee cache tiering maps for implementation optimizations
+ Develop configurations on our caching infrastructure
+ Operational Management Contact for Internal Caching Solutions; collaborating with operations and infrastructure organization as needed
+ Identifying areas for caching configuration tuning and adjustment
+ Participate in tooling development to automate and improve lifecycle and operational management of caching environment
+ Work to solve caching issues in concert with our edge engineering organization
+ Provide senior tier-2 on call evaluation, escalation and support

Basic Qualifications :
+ BS/BA required
+ Knowledge of HTTP/DNS/Internet Architecture
+ Experience in Content Distribution Network operations environments
+ Virtualization (KVM, Containers)
+ Knowledge of Scripting Languages (Python, et al)
+ Cloud Technologies (AWS, GCP)
+ Web Serving (NGINX, HAProxy)
+ Caching (Varnish)
+ Operational experience
+ Network Troubleshooting
+ Configuration Management (Ansible, AWX )
+ Understanding of streaming video protocols (HLS) and how it interacts with caching
+ Knowledge of video players and impact on cache logic
+ Passion for Troubleshooting and Debugging
