Job Description:

Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Cloud Infrastructure Services hosted in multiple cloud environments. Provides Tier I/II and Tier 3 (Escalation to Architecture Team) resolution of customer capacity requests. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers. Provide connectivity and utilization support to Cloud Infrastructure Services managed cloud environment customers.

Positions are available at the following four levels:

Cloud System Architect Level 0

(U) Provide Tier I/II support.

  • Follow established guidelines for delivery of cloud based resources. (U) Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of customer resources.

  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and utilizing cloud based compute resources.

  • Serve as the technical point of contact between the customer and the Architecture and Capacity Engineering teams.

  • Maintain currency of relevant documents and update the Wiki and SharePoint knowledge bases.

  • Monitor and respond to chat rooms.

Qualifications: Zero (0) years of experience but must possession an entry-level cloud certification (i.e. Azure, AWS, Openstack). Bachelors degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Candidate will be responsible for drafting documentation such as FAQs and internal knowledge articles. This position requires the candidate to be customer-service focused and responsive. Should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills. (U) Strong understanding of IT principles. (U) Strong understanding of cloud compute principles. (U) Strong understanding of virtualization technology principles. (U) Working understanding of commercially available cloud hosting options (Like: AWS, Azure)

Cloud System Architect Level 1

  • Provide Tier I/II support. Follow established guidelines for delivery of cloud based resources. Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of customer resources.

  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and utilizing cloud based compute resources. Serve as the technical point of contact between the customer and the Architecture and Capacity Engineering teams.

Qualifications:

Four (4) years of experience as a System Engineer / Architect in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelors degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree. Must possess one active entry level cloud certification (i.e. Azure, AWS, Openstack). Candidate will be responsible for drafting documentation such as FAQs and internal knowledge articles. This position requires the candidate to be customer-service focused and responsive. Should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills. Strong understanding of IT principles. Strong understanding of cloud compute principles. Strong understanding of virtualization technology principles. Working understanding of commercially available cloud hosting options (Like: AWS, Azure)

Cloud System Architect Level 2

  • The architect will be responsible for deployment of new solutions into existing cloud resources or off-premise infrastructure.

  • Must Possess Strong knowledge of a wide range of cloud services and solutions like AWS, OpenStack and Microsoft Azure products.

  • Should be able to develop with a DevOps approach for both Linux and Windows workloads using proven, cutting-edge cloud technologies including automation with Amazon Cloudformation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker.

  • Must be able to deploy new cloud production, staging, and test environment.

  • Responsible for all aspects of integration and deployment to include, Infrastructure and application deployment, load testing, and disaster recovery.

  • Must take planning seriously and strive for a seamless transition with little to no downtime.

  • Should be able to identify the most agile, scalable infrastructure, and select the best cloud services and technologies for customer projects and plan all implementation procedures.

  • Should be able to automate and deploy cloud infrastructures. (U) Is responsible for full documentation of the cloud infrastructure to enable a smooth handoff to application team.

  • Should have experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and implementing Infrastructure as a Service (iaaS) and Platform as a Service (Paas) using tools like OpenStack, Eucalyptus, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications:

Required: Strong knowledge of cloud solutions included but not limited to AWS, OpenStack and Microsoft Azure products. Demonstrated experience using tools like OpenStack, Eucalyptus, OpenShift, and Kubernetes. Must possess one active mid-level or advanced cloud certification (i.e. AWS, Azure, OpenStack). Must have 9 years of related work experience and a bachelors degree in a related technical field. Must work with little to no prescriptive guidance.

Development experience with both Linux and Windows workloads using cloud technologies with automation including Amazon Cloudformation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker. Demonstrated experience writing software scripts using languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby.

Cloud System Architect Level 3

  • The architect will be responsible for integrating new solutions into existing on premise cloud resources or off-premise infrastructure and evaluate impact to efficiently service changing business needs.

  • Have ability to develop modular applications that integrate with cloud services and APIs to simplify development and management.

  • Redesign legacy applications using a cloud native approach. (U) Automate most things to increase agility, reduce risk, and take advantage of the dynamic nature of cloud.

  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, make decisions and solve problems under pressure.

  • Possess thorough knowledge of cloud service provider capabilities and integration.

  • Experience running and maintaining automated production infrastructure in AWS. Must Possess Strong knowledge of a wide range of cloud services and solutions like AWS, OpenStack and Microsoft Azure products.

  • Should be able to develop with a DevOps approach for both Linux and Windows workloads using proven, cutting-edge cloud technologies including automation with Amazon Cloudformation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker. (U) Experience with container management systems (k8s, EKS) in production. (U) Experience with Github.

  • Working knowledge of agile/scrum. Understanding of information security and best practices. The architect must be innovative, think outside restrictive parameters, have a thorough understanding of DevOps and push our approach beyond typical cloud design.

  • Would be responsible for all areas of architecture design to include the following: High availability Engineering Infrastructure Design Scalability Engineering Infrastructure Audit and Best Practice Implementation Security Audit and Remediation
