This position is located within the Corporate Communications function, which focuses on promoting and protecting Elancos corporate reputation around the globe. It reports into the Sr. Director of External Communications.
The Manager, Digital Content will have ownership and responsibility for developing and publishing content for the Elanco Animal Health corporate website and Elancos social digital channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. This role is also responsible for the creation of the social communications strategy as Elanco transforms to a leading farm animal and pet-owner oriented company. The position collaborates closely across Elanco Corporate Affairs and Elanco Marketing to ensure a strategic approach to synchronizing social/digital properties. This position is located within the Corporate Communications function, which focuses on promoting and protecting Elancos corporate reputation around the globe. It reports to the Sr. Director of External Communications.
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing an integrated digital content strategy across all corporate social and digital platforms, collaborating with corporate communications, marketing and others, to position Elanco as a forward thinking changemaker in animal health.
Creating appropriate social strategy and voice for todays Elanco, an entity comprised of several recent acquisitions, previously heavily livestock focused and now more focused on the consumer pet owner.
Continually improving user experience and content for Elanco.com.
Directing and implementing technical aspects to achieve social strategy including content marketing, SEO, SEM, paid targeting, etc.
Development of editorial planning, creative, community engagement, owned & paid social content development and growth across all channels.
Creating regular, engaging social content. Experience with visual communications and storytelling.
Identify the latest trends in digital & social to ensure we are building a best-in-class social brand across existing and emerging platforms.
Clear understanding of all social platforms, algorithms, audience targeting, paid placement, etc.
Ensuring all local regulations, including data and privacy, are met.
Managing priorities, deadlines and projects that may involve multiple contributors to achieve measurable results in an environment of involvement and teamwork.
Ensuring proper management of internal and external resources linked to social/digital, including collaborating across agencies as needed.
High understanding and passion for the overall animal health industry.
This position requires experience with:
Content management systems, web publishing and analytics. Experience with Kontent by Kentico, Khoros preferred.
Content marketing strategy and execution, including SEO, SEM, paid targeting. Preference given to applicants that have been SEO certified.
Project management to set priorities, timelines and fully execute projects from strategy into action.
Developing and implementing integrated communications plans.
Bachelors degree in Communications, Business, Journalism, English, Public Relations or Marketing required.
5+ years experience in Communications
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Previous experience in pet, animal health or retail/ecommerce/consumer packaged goods communications or marketing with excellent skills including written, social, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to clearly communicate ideas, with appropriate frequency and detail to all levels of the organization and partners.
Ability to collaborate and involve others in the brainstorming and decision-making process. Continuously seeks feedback for improvement and goal achievement.
Ability to think strategically and broadly and translate strategy into action.
Proven ability to network and influence members of company management at all levels. Must be comfortable and confident in interacting with, making recommendations to, and providing feedback to leaders across the company and in support of communications.
Proven learning agility and ability to perform tasks independently with little hands-on management.
Strong understanding of social media channels and demonstrated results
Ability to manage issues and crisis and stay calm under pressure.
