Database developer is focused on improving databases, creating new applications for databases or modifying legacy applications to work with a database setup. Advanced knowledge of ETL functionality for conversions of acquisition data. Maintain adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software currently in use. Monitor and troubleshoot nightly SQL jobs upon failure. Maintain Analysis Services server and data feeds. Create scripts and execute them to fix data.
Responsibilities
Administer all SQL servers
Advanced knowledge of ETL functionality and its use, using transact SQL and other languages and technology required to perform this function.
Administer databases and applications containing PestPac, Great Plains and all other applications.
Program various reports via SQL Reporting Server and Crystal Reports as requested
Program various corporate applications as needed for intranet or stand alone.
Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems, programming, software and server technologies to provide high levels of support and high levels of flexibility.
Respond promptly to user complaints and requests
Provide technical support to all departments at the corporate level as well as all branch locations.
Identify and resolve hardware and software problems as well as to test, evaluate and recommend software and or hardware solutions for the companys benefit.
Troubleshoot system failure involving hardware and software to determine the causes and possible solutions; suggest or implements solutions to resolve these problems.
Qualifications
Must have good people and communication skills, both in writing and verbally. Also, should have good reasoning and troubleshooting skills. In depth knowledge of Windows 2003 server through current, all Microsoft desktop OSs, SQL Server 7 through current, VBScript, VB.NET, ASP, ASP.NET, HTML, WSI, ADSI, VBA, Visual Studio .NET and other. Should also, have good knowledge of hardware, (HP, Dell, IBM, printers, workstations etc.)
College Degree or 3-5 years workplace experience in Information Technology and technologies listed above. Strong customer service and appropriate social skills.
