We are looking for a highly motivated, accountable individual to fill the role of Facilities Systems Engineer supporting the Facilities Electrical department. As a Facilities Electrical SCADA Systems Engineer, you'll be directly responsible for projects and maintaining SCADA systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. Facilities systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption.


Role and Responsibilities


  • Under general supervision, performs engineering, operation and maintenance of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and industrial control systems, and performs related duties as assigned.

  • Troubleshoots basic SCADA/PLC issues, traces problems & provides solutions.

  • Maintain all control equipment, servers, and operator work stations to ensure 100% uptime.

  • Continuously improves automation and standardization for Electrical Power Monitoring / Remote Operation / SCADA software. Develop control and alarm management procedures and policies.

  • Project Management and Design Lead for control room and local HMIs, data historians, PLC programs (attention to human factors in development of HMI).

  • Continuous Improvement Projects such as eFMCS SCADA logic improvement, alarm management improvements, database extraction and reporting to management using SQL, Develop or Update existing webpages.

  • Working with development team for System Integration improvement.

  • Lead contractors through program design, simulation, testing, and start-up of new electrical remote operation and communication equipment.

  • Identify, develop and design control panels, improvements and upgrades to control systems for enhanced system functionality and reliability.

  • Work with engineering system owners, as clients, to improve control of their systems or solve control issues.

  • Report performance trends/issues to management and recommend solutions.

  • Develop standard operating procedures and train Facilities Electrical personnel on all new systems.

  • Define control system and communication equipment maintenance requirements and procedures.

  • Workdays & Hours: M-F, 1st Shift.


Skills and Qualifications


  • BS degree from an ABET accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field (Masters in technical field a plus).

  • Minimum of 5 years of Experience with SCADA Systems Design and Maintenance.

  • Certifications or training in any the following areas are a plus:

  • Basic Computer Programming (C/C++/C#, Oracle and PL/SQL).

  • Alarm Management (ISA 18.2 or equal).

  • SCADA communication data flow and Networking/Communications Protocols.

  • Cyber Security (ISA/IEC 62443 or equal).

  • Human Factors (or Human Error) in Monitoring/Control.

  • Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

  • Structured Problem Solving (Root Cause Analysis, 5-Whys, etc).


  • Strong data and system analysis, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.

  • Excellent organization skills, persistence, good judgment, and attention to detail.

  • Writes & modifies program code; creates program code in a logical manner that is easily understood by others.

  • Experience with PLC and different forms of communication protocols like Modbus, IEC61850, and DNP.

  • A history of "hands-on" approach to problem solving and countermeasure implementation within own areas of responsibility.

  • Knowledge of ISA 18.2 standards.

  • Web development experience. Preferred XHTML, React, Node.js.

  • Strong understanding of database SQL.

  • Preferred to have some experience with Python and VBA.

  • Knowledge of WINCCOA Platform and C programming.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills for assessing problems and developing corrective actions.

  • Show ability to take initiative and drive for results.

  • Have ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

  • Inclusively and collaboratively solve problems with of input from all disciplines, teams and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate strong customer service orientation and ability to take ownership for issue resolution.

  • Be able to interface professionally and effectively with all levels of management.

  • Have the ability to create construction drawings, details, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), etc.

  • Be proficient with Microsoft Windows based applications.
