Summary
HII-TSD is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work out of our Honolulu, HI office. HII provides software development and IT support to the MK 18 Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) program at Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific. The MK 18 program features Hydroids REMUS 100 & 600 unmanned vehicles and will be an important part of future littoral surveillance and mine counter measures efforts by our military customer. What You Will Do
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
+ Lead a programming team to develop a UUV mission planning, mission monitoring and post-mission analysis application
+ Collaborate with outside development teams to ensure functionality of external program plug-ins
+ Work closely with program lead developer and perform periodic code reviews
Minimum Qualifications
9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
+ Software programming experience required.
+ Exposure to JavaScript-based open-source web application framework like Angular, React, VUE or Ember required.
+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance.
Preferred Requirements
+ Recent experience working and supporting U.S. Unmanned Maritime systems
+ Ten years of software development and coding experience with the angular open-source web application format
+ Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fiels with an emphasis in object-oriented programming languages
Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
