Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is looking for a Software Development Engineer to develop and support current and future software used by the 132nd Combat Training Squadron (CTS), Distributed Training Operations Center (DTOC) supporting the Air National Guard (ANG) in Des Moines, IA.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. Duties include but are not limited to:
+ Oversight and management of all internally created software supporting the DTOC as well as consulting with and supporting some externally created and managed software supporting DTOC Distributed Mission Operations (DMO)
+ Coordinates with external agencies and development activities on DTOC related software development related topics and activities.
+ Provides status, guidance and recommendations to DTOC leadership on all DTOC software development and maintenance related topics and activities.
Minimum Qualifications
+ 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
+ 5+ years of experience with software development using PHP, JavaScript, Ajax, MySQL, MariaDB, HTML, CSS, XML, Java, or C+
+ + 5+ years of experience with implementing and supporting APIs between internal and external system components
+ Experience with Agile software development, Software Development Lifecycle processes, and debugging and analysis tools
+ Ability to gather requirements and transform the information into solutions that exceed customer expectations
+ Ability to prepare and present findings and recommendations to organization leadership.
+ Experience leading a team of software developers to work together across multiple projects
+ Current Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Requirements
+ Experience with DMO related software applications, scheduling tools and environment generator applications
+ Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies via self-study and collaboration with team members
+ Information Assurance Training (IAT) Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security+).
Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
