**Responsibilities**
Citis Global Functions Technology (GFT) is responsible for delivering Technology solutions to Citi's Global Functions organizations. GFT's mission is to optimize Citi's Technology environment by delivering world class applications, driving standardization of the production environment, reducing complexity, optimizing management of systems supporting global functions such as Compliance, Data, Risk and Finance, and introducing innovative technologies that provide new business capabilities, reduce the technology total cost of ownership, and create a competitive advantage for Citi.
Global Risk and Controls Technology (GRCT) within Global Functions Technology(GFT) supports global functions partners such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM), Retail Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Model Risk, Internal Audit, O&T Business Risk Control and Citi Chief Administrative Office. Enterprise Risk Management covers Risk Identification, Risk Measurement, Appetite and Limits, Risk Analytics, New Activity Risk Management, Risk Framework and Policy, Enterprise Risk Management Governance.
The Big Data Platform Engineer position is responsible for variety of engineering activities and major initiatives under GRCT Data platform within GFT, to transform and digitize the business. If you are a technologist at heart, this is an amazing opportunity for you.
As a key member of the Big Data Platform team, you will work closely with full stack data developers, engineers, DevOps team members, Production Support partners and the larger technology organization. Big Data Platform Team is responsible to get high-quality products and new features built, tested, released, and supported on time for Big Data Technology as part of GFT organization at Citi. This role is for a Big Data Platform Engineer responsible to define, improve and handle latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning/forecasting along with all aspects of non-functional requirements for the Cluster.
This role work closely with the development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration. They will also work closely with Central Cluster Admins and Production Support team members and ensure all components on the cluster including Application security and monitoring.
**Qualifications:**
+ 10-12 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in Big Data
+ 2+ Years of experience in Cloudera Hadoop (Version 5.6 or higher)
+ Expertise in Cloudera Hadoop Distributed File System, YARN, ZooKeeper, Oozie
+ Expertise in Troubleshooting Cluster issues, root Cause Analysis
+ Expertise in management and troubleshooting of Spark Jobs.
+ Expert level knowledge of debugging deployment issues on the cluster
+ Experience with NoSQL databases like Hive/HBase/Impala
+ Experience in supporting users to debug job failures for Batch and Real-time
+ Experience in of Kafka, HBase, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kudu, Solor and Kerberos authentications.
+ Experience in developing shell and Unix scripting
+ Working knowledge of Docker / OpenShift registry.
+ Knowledge of Autosys, AppDynamics, Geneos ITRS, uDeploy, Jenkins and other tools are a plus.
+ Understanding of AWS, Snowflake, Couchbase or other distributed cloud-based technologies is also a plus.
+ Experience working in a large complex and/or global environment
+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
+ Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
+ Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
