The role youll contribute:

As the Most Wired health care system for 5 straight years, AdventHealth Information Technology is looking to immediately hire a full time Enterprise Hypervisor Infrastructure Engineer with 5+ years experience with virtual infrastructure planning, configuration, testing, and implementation, and support to join our progressive, industry leading technology infrastructure team. This role provides technical engineering and support to all AdventHealth virtual environments across the organizations 45 hospitals and more than 1,000 care locations. This work-from-home position requires knowledge of hypervisor operating system softwares and associated hardware platforms including hyperconverged (HCI) and blade infrastructures. Experience in all areas of infrastructure design and deployment including networking, domain services, security, VSAN storage, replication, backup, recovery, root cause analysis, and patch management. The value youll bring to the team:

  • Plan, test, and deploy new and periodic hypervisor release versions of VMware ESXi operating software and other hypervisors (Hyper-V, OLVM, etc.) as needed.

  • Plan, test, and configure HPE and DELL host server hardware (blade chassis, blades, hyperconverged infrastructures)

  • Plan, test, and deploy all appropriate security and firmware patches as directed by InfoSec or vendors

  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures with minimal to zero downtime

  • Manage operating system and hardware lifecycles schedules

  • Recommend, develop and pilot solutions to improve processes and customer experiences

  • Research and resolve problems efficiently and accurately following organizational standards and processes

  • Collaborate with other technical and application support teams to identify problems and develop solutions (compute, network, storage, database, performance, security, audit)

  • Maintain team documentation (configurations, procedures, processes)

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & TECHNOLOGIES:

  • Significant hands-on experience with VMware products, including VMware ESXi Enterprise Plus and Standard v6.7 and higher; vCenter, vRealize, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), DRS, and HA.

  • Experience with MX blade chassis, MX blade servers, HPE DL-series servers and VxRail and SimpliVity HCI.

  • Administrative level experience working with multiple Linux-based operating platforms, including but not limited to OEL, RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, and SUSE.

  • Administrative level experience working with Windows Server-based operating platforms, including but not limited to WIN2012, WIN2016, WIN2019.

  • Strong script-coding skills in BASH and Power Shell.

  • Analytical skills in "Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using varioius monitoring, log files, and administrative toolsets.

  • Experience working with domain services, networking, SAN storage, firewalls, security controls, and various database environments.

  • Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively and proactively across a large organization with dispersed remote work-at-home teams.

  • Experience working with strong change control, security controls, and privacy regulations.

  • Experience or knowledge of hospital or healthcare-related IT environment working with regulatory, procedural, and safeguards related to HIPAA, ITIL, ITSM, and HiTrust frameworks for handling sensitive patient data.


EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must have renewed or passed one or more of the following certifications within the past two years:

    • VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization course (VCPx-DCV or VCPx-CMA).

(or)

  • Extensive experience will be considered as a possible substitution with sufficient documented evidence provided, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a enterprise VMware administrator role.

(or)

  • College degree in Computer Science or related IT technology or engineering related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a enterprise VMware administrator role.
