Summary: Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Field Technician(s) to join our Sacramento (Rancho Cordova), CA office supporting remediation system operation, maintenance, and monitoring (OM&M) activities. Responsibilities include field work, mechanical/electrical upkeep and troubleshooting for groundwater and soil vapor extraction systems, daily inspections of treatment systems, and routine sampling tasks. Experience working with PLC logic, process controls, mechanical systems, pneumatic pump maintenance, hydraulic filter press maintenance, air compressor maintenance and wastewater treatment plant operations preferred. The position requires 2+ years of relevant, hands-on experience.
Your Role:
Typical field tasks will include treatment system operation, optimization, and maintenance, soil and groundwater sampling, vapor sampling; site inspections, oversight of subcontractors, and H&S briefings.
Reporting tasks may include preparation of daily field reports, inspection checklists, report text, tables, charts, and figures.
Office tasks include field prep and project meetings.
Position will work at the direction of a project manager and requires a minimum of 90% percent field work and related travel.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalency. Technical certificate in industrial maintenance or associates degree preferred.
2+ years of previous experience working on environmental and remediation projects. 2+ years of industrial maintenance / construction field or related experience.
Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs.
40-hour HAZWOPER trained with associated 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher and Supervisor Training a plus.
Field experience with drilling, sampling (soil and groundwater), and well installations desirable; training provided.
Applicant must have excellent technical and mechanical abilities. Excellent organizational and sound written/oral communication skills.
Must be self-motivated, dedicated, attentive to detail, and very organized. Positive personality possessing the ability to work well as a team and individually.
Familiarity with the MS Office Suite, databases, and CAD or GIS is desirable.
Must have a reliable form of transportation and ability to travel to job sites and on temporary assignments as needed.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs. unassisted.
Must comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols. Experience in adhering to Site Specific Health & Safety (H&S) Plans and complying with H&S policies.
A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
