The role youll contribute:
The Epic Technical Architect is responsible for overseeing, leading, and developing application and/or workflow solutions to meet organizational needs. Designs solutions designed as a template that are scalable across systems/modules. Operates as a cross-functional application domain leader as needed. Provides deep subject matter build expertise in application/systems and ensures cross-functional integration of projects and assignments. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Leads consensus building activities with end users, operational leaders, physicians, and designated staff for the purpose of implementing solutions and/or resolving issues which may involve multiple applications and/or technical teams. Helps set standards around domain expertise for all teams.
Leads and facilitates in defining the architecture of an application/system to fulfill requirements: gather business requirements; document current/future state workflows; gap analysis; develop plans; process and requirement analysis, including process mapping through current flowcharts, documenting plans, requirements elicitation, stakeholder analysis, and specification gathering on complex projects.
Responsible for completing gap analysis, and providing technology and resource recommendations.
Oversees the analysis, implementation and testing of updates, changes and maintenance to Epic modules and related applications. Ensures end-users/business owners are notified.
Serves as the application expert to team members and end-users/business owners on application integration and touch point areas.
Leads in development of application and system style guides and nomenclature, as well as in service recovery work: gathers issues; develops fixes/solutions; implements and monitors solutions.
Must possess strong organizational skills to monitor progress
Provides technical guidance and oversight to highly complex and enterprise-wide implementations.
Communicates clearly and effectively with team members, other AIT teams, customers, vendors, management, and AIT leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the AIT department and in order to comply with AH policy and procedures.
Works independently, with minimal supervision, under the direction and support of the Manager or Director
Architects integration environment (including Epic Bridges and MyChart and Chronicles)
Leads team in design of integration environment, oversees interface technical design, and serves as an expert for the organization in healthcare integration
Coordinates with other AIT teams on major projects, provides resource assignment for projects and requests at managers discretion
Oversees the integration technical environment, responsible for managing the smooth operation and coordination of production and non-production integration environments
Assists management in keeping the integration department compliant with AIT processes and procedures (ex: Data Security, Hitrust, and AIT policies directly affecting integration)
Serves as a point of escalation for technical problems and incidents, and exercises good judgement in helping team members to resolve the most complex issues
Participates in 24X7 on-call rotation
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:
Bachelors degree in a field of study such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR equivalent IT work experience
Epic Bridges Certification
Epic MyChart and Epic Chronicles Certifications preferred
Knowledge of HL7 standards (HL7 v2, FHIR, CDA)
Knowledge of scripting languages (such as TCL, Korn Shell, FSI Scripting or comparable)
Knowledge of interface engines and their architecture (such as Health Connect, Epic Bridges, Cloverleaf, Cerner Open Engine, or comparable interface engine)
Experience in programming and problem analysis
4-6 years of programming/systems analysis experience with emphasis in applications and systems architectural design and development database and middleware technologies is preferred
