Cox Automotive, a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our team in Atlanta, GA.  The Software Engineer writes and maintains code within applications and systems to implement features, improve performance and maintainability, while reducing technical debt in alignment with product and technology roadmaps. Come join the transformation!  * Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Agile Planning * * Works with Technical and Product Management to understand the challenges users face in their day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable solutions. * Recommend solutions that improve the effectiveness of the team and reduce technical debt. * Provides input into story sizing, backlog grooming, release planning and continuous improvement. * Product Development * * Contributes to product and technical designs to address complex problems. * Build software applications across multiple platforms * Understand technical architecture and writes software and automated tests that are aligned with standards.   * Performs trouble-shooting efforts and investigations as needed. * Application Support * * Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products. * Actively participates in the engineering community, staying up to date on new software technologies and best practices and shares insights with others in the organization. * Required Experience (minimum): * * Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 2+ years experience OR MS w/ 2+ years experience * Experience with Java full-stack development (React) and development of applications in the cloud (AWS preferred) * Progressive exposure to and knowledge of architectural patterns, design patterns and tradeoffs. * Experience with Agile methodologies * Experience with logging and monitoring systems like Splunk, Cloudwatch, NewRelic, DataDog * What We Look For (preferred):  * * Experience with Ruby development applications and test automation are in Ruby * Experience with Infrastructure as a code Serverless (Node.JS, Python), Terraform, AWS CloudFormation * Experience with the design and development of REST APIs.
