Equity Research Analyst/Associate- Consumer Staples

**Job Description:**
The US Consumer Staples Equity research team covers the Food, Beverage, Personal Care/Household products and Tobacco companies. The team currently covers 40 listed issuers. It is currently vetting 10 IPO candidates which will result in a coverage universe of 45 to 50 companies with more than $1trillion in market cap. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience preferably with experience with familiarity consumer products industry or willing to learn industry. This role work alongside their Senior Analyst and Junior Analysts in all aspects from covering stocks, idea generation to company meetings, and will play a critical part in providing the financial modeling and qualitative analysis for ECC meetings, sales teach-ins.
**Responsibilities**
Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
Write regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratch
Primary coverage on a subset of stocks AND supporting Senior Analyst on select companies
Develop databases integral to our research product
Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders
Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to analyst when traveling
Seek out new, unusual sources of information
Leverage our robust network of industry contacts
Interact regularly with clients
**Qualifications**
BA, majors and/or areas of academic excellence must include Accounting and Finance
MUST have strong modeling skills
Bachelors Degree, 2-4 years of experience
Experience with Bloomberg and/or FactSet tools a distinct positive
Strong writing and spreadsheet skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
Must work well in a collaborative team environment
