Job Description Summary
Dune is the next generation analytics service for Equities, built upon the new Opera quant library. Working closely with the business stakeholders, this is a high impact role on an exciting greenfield project. The successful candidate will have close interaction with quants, trading and other technology teams. Were looking for a strong, motivated individual who will help shape and grow this exciting new platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with business users and other technology teams to deliver solutions that:
enable new business opportunities
reduce operational risk by automating manual processes
facilitate analysis of historical Big Data sets
Manage delivery of solutions to business users with minimal oversight
Integrate solutions with existing services and create new services as appropriate.
Deliver to high engineering standards following the key Agile and DevOps principles.
Knowledge/Experience:
Background of delivering software using an iterative Agile approach.
Previous experience and knowledge of Equity Derivatives and/or Delta 1 desirable (but not essential).
Proven record of accomplishment in owning and driving success delivery to business users.
Comfortable dealing directly with users to understand requirements and explore solutions
Ability to focus on multiple projects simultaneously
Required Skills:
Pride in delivering solutions to make users happy
Open and collaborative communication
Experience and aptitude of Agile and DevOps approaches e.g. continuous integration, test automation, frequent releases, containerization
Experience with JVM based development using Koltin, Java or Scala
Understanding of HTTP and REST based architectures
Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Experience with tools such as TeamCity, Kubernetes, OpenShift and Amazon Web Services would be beneficial.
