The Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) group at Takeda is responsible for unlocking the full potential of Takeda's pipeline and global brands by building product strategies that bring transformative benefits to the lives of patients across many therapeutic areas. GPLS supports high-impact transformative lifecycle initiatives to extend the reach of key global brands. The team's remit is to deliver effective global product strategies and ensure Takeda achieves its long terms goals for our global brands.
The Global Insights & Analytics Team is part of the Global Product and Launch Excellence team at Takeda. The Global Market Insights Lead, RGH & MBU will be empowered to support the RGH & MBU Global Product Teams (GPTs) to frame business problems into primary & secondary market research and competitive intelligence solutions. At Takeda we believe insights are the foundation of product strategy.
How you will contribute:
Execute and integrate primary market research and competitive intelligence to support Marketing, New Product Teams, and overall GPTs from a commercial perspective including foundational strategic research (e.g., market landscape / patient journey, segmentation / brand positioning / messaging, competitive landscapes/ tracking) and assist commercial teams in development of new product TPPs and strategic plans for growth brands
Enable commercial assessment of lifecycle management strategies for new products and growth brands
Lead projects that deliver high quality, actionable business insights to Brand/ New Product teams and GPTs
Act as strategic partner to GPT members in the RGH & MBU Franchises, working on global inline brands and pipeline products with Global Product Leads, Global Commercial Leads, New Products Leads, Market Access Leads, Global Medical Leads, and other cross-functional GPT members
Design and deliver market research and competitive intelligence projects that support the growth of key global marketed brands and successful launch of pipeline assets
Aid development of commercial strategies through market research, competitive intelligence and other sources of insights to support lifecycle management strategies and new product commercial preparedness
Lead global competitive intelligence efforts, including current in-line diseases as well as diseases with pipeline assets or as part of commercial assessment
Own the key business questions for the asset/ brand and help the team prioritize their focus and resources based on the needs of the program
Lead development of the insights plan in collaboration with your cross-functional stakeholders and consider the use of innovative approaches to help answer key business questions
Collaborate closely with regional colleagues to ensure insights plan is aligned with regional activities
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
BA/BS in science or business required
5+ years of experience in a commercial capacity within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and/or life science or strategy consulting experience
Candidate should have a successful track record functioning in a matrix environment and delivering results in the areas of market research (required) and competitive intelligence (required)
Willingness to travel to various meetings/conferences including international travel is required
Proven stakeholder management skills and an effective team player with influence in a cross-functional environment outside of immediate reporting lines
High emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively with different personality types
Ability to be flexible in a highly dynamic environment with changing needs
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experience in operating in global markets is preferred
Subject matter expertise in one or more of these disciplines in addition to market research and competitive intelligence would be preferred: forecasting and/ or product analytics
Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and drug development
An understanding of rare disease states, treatment paradigms and future trends
Core commercial insights competencies from insights planning to execution to socialization of results
Strong strategic thinker
Strong collaboration skills to align cross-functional groups
Ability to communicate ideas, both verbally and written, in a persuasive and effective manner
Ability to adapt to changing landscape as well as organizational priorities
Ability to create and maintain an accurate budget for department expenses
