As Citi pivots to sustained growth across all of its business lines (both corporate and consumer), there is a recognition that a key enabler is the ability to better harness data, analytics, and insights, both within individual business units, but also across business lines to create incremental value, both internally and externally. Citi is seeking a strong business-minded analytical leader to both create and execute against a data agenda that will accelerate business outcomes for our Global Payments and Receivables business. This Data Leader will interface with multiple business stakeholders to understand needs/priorities and pave the path for how data & analytics can used to accelerate outcomes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Execute Citis Data strategy across all payments and receivables products, ensuring that there is a globally consistent process for acquiring, persisting, and delivering Data
+ Lead the execution of a plan to receive and store full payment transactional information based on an ISO 20022 Data model
+ Design and deploy datasets that can be leveraged as the single source of truth for all reporting.
+ Work with technology to ensure:
+ persistence of payments data from receipt to storage and use, based on the canonical data model throughout the payment lifecycle
+ remediation data quality issues (truncation, replacement, etc.)
+ development of audit trails of data enrichment and replacement events
+ Build internal descriptive and predictive client analytics on payment activity based on the single source of truth - for sales, service, operations, and product management
+ Understand the drivers of business results and how data/analytics can accelerate outcomes; drive theory to execution with business partners to directly impact results
+ Build payment risk management solution for client usage, using machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and spot and alert clients of anomalies in their payment transactions
+ Identify data driven targeting and program improvement opportunities to acquire new customers, increase portfolio sales, reduce attrition and optimize profitability
+ Unlock new value through data sharing / data exchanges with external clients
+ Continually, succinctly, and clearly communicate progress and results against the data/analytics agenda within the team and with peers
+ Investigate and leverage - Continually bring the outside in to learn and deploy best practices from other organizations or industry forums
**Knowledge/Experience/Technical skills:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Finance, Math, Operations Research or other related fields; Master's is a plus
+ Previous experience working with large volumes of data and strong understanding of data analytics - traditional business analytics and modern data science techniques
+ Familiarity with Data management and modeling concepts, canonical Data models, ISO 20022
+ Experience in leading the designing, developing or managing Data solutions involving not just BI tools, but Data science concepts.
+ Familiarity with the end-to-end payment process for RTGS/wires, ACH, Instant Payments, cross border payments.
+ Can understand business needs and translate into analytical execution, including the supervision and review of the analysis, with a critical eye
+ Can innovate new use cases and evaluate business impact
+ Can interface with technology to scale solutions if needed
