Position Summary
Samsung Electronics America is seeking a creative, disciplined, and strategic leader to join our People Team as the Head of Talent Acquisition. Recruitment team consist of 50+ individuals (blend of full-time and contract) and is geographically dispersed across Samsungs main office locations. Recruitment encompasses both non-executive, executive and emerging talent hiring for all core LOBs and COEs which drives significant volume of requisitions ongoing with high complexity.
The senior level leader that assumes this role should have strong business acumen and will place an emphasis on supporting leadership across a complex, matrixed enterprise. The best candidate will apply a blend of design thinking, process improvement, data analytics, and strategy in their problem-solving to build operational excellence and scalability. This leader will forge strong relationships with cross-functional partners and earn trust from the business leaders by quickly solving problems, delivering on KPIs and creating new ways to attract and hire the best talent.
Role and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Develop thoughtful and measurable recruitment strategy and processes across the business (Mobile, Consumer Electronics Networks, People Team, Supply Chain/Logistics, ecommerce, and Corporate Functions,)
Collaborate closely with Executives and partners to provide thought leadership for recruiting philosophies, processes, tools and tactics for both executive and non-executive talent acquisition needs
Build a data-driven recruiting organization and process, including analytics, and dashboards, using an existing ATS, and a culture of continuous improvement using data insights to shape our operational roadmap and priorities
Create training programs and ways of working with hiring managers and interviewers that continually improve their capabilities
Partner with HR leaders and hiring managers across businesses to deliver exceptional recruiting services in support of the overall objective to recruit top talent
Partner with leaders to execute on our Diversity & Inclusion priorities and drive recruiting-related initiatives that make SEA a great place to work for all talent
Ensure that all managers receive training on recruitment and selection process, including record keeping requirements
Develop and execute Strategic Growth projects in support of long-term vision goals
Benchmark industry competitors introducing intelligence into the ways of working and overall operation to drive TTF and other key indicators of success
Identify trade and or professional conferences to strategically recruit and brand the SEA business in the marketplace
Skills and Qualifications
Requirements and Competencies:
Bachelors Degree required; Masters preferred.
20+ years in recruiting for roles ranging from entry-level to executive in high-growth environments, with significant recruiting leadership experience and 5+ years of managing managers/leads; 15+ years in managing recruitment talent in geo-dispersed settings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presenting to senior leadership teams
Demonstrates Cultural Competence & Agility: understand & appreciate cultural differences and bring insights to inspire and engage people in solving complex problems
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks at the same time
Tremendous emotional intelligence and great judgment make you a trusted partner of SEA business leaders, an inspirational leader to your team, and a trusted coach to senior candidates
Strong ability to create programs and strategies that ensure SEA gets to know and attracts the best talent out there before they are even actively searching
Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop a team of recruiters
Comprehensive knowledge of current HR/talent, and the ability to think outside of whats been done before to come up with the best solution to impact a 3-5 year horizon
Ability to learn/flex and adapt to changing business needs, modeling the core competency of Adaptability
Creative problem solving, ability to know the environment, and effectively use company resources to draw conclusions
Proven analytical mindset- using data to tell stories and drive decisions; you seek to understand and solve a problem, you instinctively ask for the data. You are fluent with recruiting analytics and how to build and improve systems and processes around them
Strong Visionary & Strategic Thinker: can envision and create an enhanced acquisition strategy for a growing diverse workforce.
Adapts positively to stressful situations: takes initiative to manage conflict, flexible and resilient and recovers quickly from setbacks
Proven ability to influence and manage a budget and vendors.
Ability to partner cross functionally across all business units and with all levels of the organization. Ability to take business objectives and strategies and develop recommendations for programs that solve problems specific to Talent Acquisition and/or enhance ongoing functional, technical and sales resource efforts.
