Disney Streaming is looking for a Lead Front-End Software Engineer to join the Operational Resiliency Engineering team.


ORE bridges the gap between Engineering and Operations, partnering with teams to identify gaps in cross-team processes and tools that are essential to operational maturity, agility, and resiliency and architects solutions with supporting APIs, UIs, automations, and real-time data processing pipelines. Using full-stack engineering toolsets, ORE analyzes problem statements, and employs constant partner feedback to execute a rapid, iterative development process. OREs are comfortable being dropped into unfamiliar codebases, APIs, technologies, and workflows, quickly achieving situational awareness. OREs improve signal-to-noise ratio of monitoring, alerting, and auto-mitigation systems through a deep relationship with operational processes - from instrumentation to deployment and runtime, all the way to incident management and resolution.


The primary skill an ORE should possess is the confidence and ability to communicate and work effectively in unfamiliar situations it is critical that an ORE adapt quickly, assess the situation and provide quality solutions to team problems using full-stack knowledge to enable those solutions & traverse any barriers that may arise.


Responsibilities:


+ Develop features and improvements to web apps used for monitoring & responding to operational issues throughout the organization.

+ Write code that is robust, testable, maintainable, and performant.

+ Help define and evolve our team processes and coding standards.

+ Perform code reviews and mentor team members.

+ Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and roadmap planning.

+ Refine project requirements by talking with stakeholders and researching third-party APIs.


Basic Qualifications:


+ At least 7 years experience as a developer

+ Professional experience with React or another modern JavaScript web framework (VueJS, Angular, etc.)

+ Experience with TypeScript

+ Experience with GraphQL and REST APIs.

+ Experience with writing automated tests (e.g. Jest, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, AVA, tape)

+ A solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.

+ Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems

+ BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience is required

+ Ruby experience is a plus


_The pay range for_ _this position in Colorado is $129,150 to $173,250 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent_ _on the level and position offered._
