SAIC is seeking a Lead Operations Analyst to support the Army and the broader military intelligence community on site at Fort Benning.

The position is the Lead Maneuver Operations Analyst for the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE). AEWE is an annual, force-on-force prototype experiment designed to assess new concepts and capabilities for small tactical units.  

Job Duties:

  • The position is responsible for designing tactical scenarios to collect Soldier insights and observations on participating concepts and capabilities.

  • The position supervises a team of fifteen personnel who implement the analytical plan, conduct data collection, reduce raw data for salient insights, and produce formal briefings and written reports. 

  • Primary data collection sources are observations of the analytical team in the field and Soldier/user surveys.

  • Key preliminary work includes familiarization of experimental technologies, literature review, current doctrine and emerging conceptual work on tactics, techniques, and procedures.

  • The position works closely with other key stakeholders across Army Futures Command, Army labs, and other Army analytical offices.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus nine (9) years military experience; four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Prior military operations and planning experience is required. 

  • Knowledge of maneuver doctrine and techniques gained through experience in military organizations.

  • Candidate must be a subject matter expert in current maneuver doctrine.

  • Candidate must be an experienced writer, have excellent computer skills and be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills required.

  • Candidate must be customer oriented and have the ability to operate independently.

  • Excellent reasoning skills are required.

  • Previous experience preparing and coordinating requirements, messages, decision papers, fact sheets, information papers and briefing slides is required.

Required Security Clearance:

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Scientific method, experiment design, statistics.

  • The best fit candidate will have a background in Infantry or Armor. 

  • Successful company level command and brigade or battalion level staff and/or joint operations experience along with project management experience is highly desired.
