As part of DMED Technology, the DMED Consumer Experiences & Platforms pillar is responsible for creating the consumer facing applications across ABC, ABC News, the Disney Channel, ESPN, FX, National Geographic, Marvel, and more.
Were looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help us build ground breaking digital experiences. As a Lead engineer you will be a key member of a small team of developers. Every day, youll work with team members across disciplines developing features and systems for the ESPN/ESPN+ app. Youll interact daily with our product managers to understand our domain and create technical solutions that push us forward.
The ideal candidate is a practiced engineer with the ability and desire to provide leadership and develop well-designed architectures. They must be self-directed and comfortable managing the needs of a variety of stakeholders, team members and contractors.
Responsibilities :
+ Build well-designed, well-engineered, stable, performant native iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C.
+ Manage and participate in the software development lifecycle, including the planning, development, testing, release, and live ops stages.
+ Write unit and integration tests for your code.
+ Work both independently and collaborate with a team of engineers with peer reviews to learn from and teach one another.
+ Partner with business stakeholders to deliver features on time and to specifications.
+ Provide detailed estimates of work and ensure timely delivery of features.
+ Continuously learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies to evaluate impact to business and member value.
+ Deliver an outstanding experience for our Fans.
**Basic Qualifications :**
+ 8+ years of full software development lifecycle experience
+ Deep understanding and proficiency in building iOS mobile apps in either Swift or Objective-C.
+ Strong knowledge of iOS UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
+ Passionate about writing clean, well-organized, and production-ready code.
+ Experience working with Git version control, or equivalent, in a collaborative team environment, creating pull requests and performing code reviews.
+ Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication skills and experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams of product managers, designers, and engineers.
+ Be organized and able to remain productive even when you have multiple deliverables.
+ BS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
**Preferred Qualifications :**
+ Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
+ Experience with multiple mobile platforms.
+ Full-stack development experience.
**Required Education :**
+ BS, BA, or advanced degree in computer science, engineering or its equivalent
**Additional Information :**
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $129,150 to $173,250 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
