We Are Hiring Maintenance Department: Plant Operations Full Time / 40 hrs Monday thru Friday 3p-1130p rotating weekends. Experience with door hardware, general carpentry, basic plumbing, grounds, general carpentry/maintenance. Ascension Providence Rochester What You Will Do Under general supervision, performs skills of average difficulty; repairing and maintaining Ascension equipment, buildings, facilities and grounds. Essential Functions Assist in repairing, removing and installation of heavy equipment. Operate parking structure maintenance equipment. Maintain and perform minor repairs to parking structure. Minor refrigeration maintenance. Assemble new equipment. Clean, lubricate and make minor repairs to motors and electrical fixtures. Perform preventative maintenance as specified by supervision. Clean up work area when finished with a job. Construct, install and adjust cabinets and other wood making. Varnish and paint small items. Small plaster repairs. Non-Essential Functions Minor carpenter work. Ark and gas welding. Maintain and make lock repairs. Install tile; ceiling, wall and floor. Demonstrate and actively promote an understanding and commitment to the mission of Ascension through performing behaviors consistent with the Ascension Standards of Performance and Code of Ethics. Promote a positive work environment as evidenced by quality service and positive staff attitudes. This job function does not require direct use or disclosure of personal health information and inappropriate access, use or disclosure is subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge with a first offense. In such circumstance, the employee is subject to disciplinary action for any inappropriate use or disclosure of personal health information. This position requires the ability to identify age related differences within the persons served and the adjustment of treatment style and expectations as appropriate, including adjustments based on the persons served cognitive function and learning ability. This will include taking into account their religious and cultural needs and preferences. , What You Will Need Education: High school graduate required. Work Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in any combination of training; education and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties of the position. Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and manufacturers specifications. Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques, and be able to understand and comply with all the codes and regulations of one or more of the following: Plumbing and Sanitation, Electrical, Refrigeration, Carpentry and/or Commercial Painting. Working knowledge of all tools (hand, electric, etc.). Ability to work under emergency conditions, and in above average situations. Initiative and judgment involved in determining cause of failure of electrical, plumbing or refrigeration and servicing equipment to keep them operating efficiently.
