We are currently seeking a manager to join Kroll's Global Communications team in New York. The Manager, Internal and Executive Communications is a self-motivated communicator who is proficient at storytelling, an excellent writer who knows how to capture the voice of an executive, and an individual with creative and innovative ideas and ways to inform, motivate and engage employees through multiple channels.
This is a hands-on role that will also support executive and corporate internal communications by preparing a variety of communications and thought leadership materials including executive LinkedIn content, emails, newsletters, intranet content, reporting content as well as preparing briefing and support materials for various engagements such as town halls.
As a member of the Communications team reporting to the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) and working in tandem with other team members in Communications, Marketing, the Leadership team and the Kroll businesses, this position will collaborate and ensure alignment of messaging between internal and external communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the strategy to effectively communicate Kroll's corporate mission, business goals and core values to over 6,000 team members globally.
Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communication channels including company-wide townhalls/events, newsletters and the company intranet with the goal of driving employee engagement; help explore new enterprise social platforms
Write content for CEO and management committee communications, including emails, town hall meetings, talking points for events and other channels used for engaging Kroll employees.
Identify and drive creative ways to more effectively cascade information down through the organization
Support internal communications in response to crisis situations which affect organizational perception and reputation
Support change management/transformation and acquisition-related communications.
Counsel and support the business units on their internal communication plans
Track and measure engagement with internal communications and leverage the insights to optimize the strategy; respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications approach and content accordingly
Collaborate with external agencies supporting strategic communications and content.
What you'll bring
Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to connect business objectives with measurable communication strategies
Experience supporting executive communications
A self-starter who is comfortable crafting and implementing communication strategies on a variety of topics, for a variety of internal audiences and across multiple channels
Creative storytelling ideas to elevate the people, culture and work of Kroll
A team player and able to work collaboratively with teams across Communications, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Operations, IT and more
Ability to work quickly and under pressure when news needs to be communicated to internal audiences
Strong inter-personal and relationship-building skills with individuals at all organizational levels
REQUIREMENTS:
BA or BS in Communication, English, Public Relations or similar discipline
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in internal communications
Mastery of written and oral communications skills; proficient in AP style
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees; deliver content clearly, succinctly and creatively
Experience driving several projects simultaneously
Familiarity with digital and video means of communication is essential
Experience launching and/or managing internal social channel (Yammer or similar platform) a plus
Experience using internal email platforms like Poppulo a plus
Willingness to work in the New York office two days per week or more when required
