Thales is currently looking for aManager, Solutions Architect working REMOTELY based in the North East, United States. As a vital member of the sales team, the Manager, Solutions Architect is an experienced technologist leader; comfortable at the intersection of technology and business.

The purpose of this position is to demonstrate the ability of thinking strategically about business needs, technical challenges and solutions.

The Manager, Solutions Architect leads a team of Sales Engineers supporting the field sales team, and partners while collaborating with Professional Services, and Product Management to ensure customer success in designing, and implementing data security projects in the public cloud as well as on premise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pre-sales support resource allocation across sales territories to optimize sales.

  • Ensure all Sales Engineers have the appropriate product knowledge, technical skills, and communication abilities to work with a wide range of vertical markets, customer environments, and partners to achieve assigned revenue and profit targets.

  • Coach and mentor Sales Engineers as well define their corporate goal and objectives.

  • Facilitate sales engineer career objectives definition and action plan to achieve objectives

  • Ensure skill and professional development plans are in place for all SEs.

  • Provide tactical sales engineering support as needed across all regions in support of the entire team.

  • Present to existing and potential customers and partners (including; development staff, CXOs, and analysts) information concerning the technical and business benefits of Thales cybersecurity solutions.

  • Using consultative selling skills, lead deep architectural discussions and designs with key customers to understand technical requirements and business direction in order to help them define their technical needs, and recommend solutions that meet those needs utilizing company products

  • Be passionate about helping customers protect their most important assets, their data

  • Work closely with Product Management team to identify, evaluate, and make technical recommendations regarding strategic product enhancements based on market initiatives, new technology, partnerships or customer requirements

  • Arrange and coordinate product demonstrations or trial installations of products

  • Maintain a high degree of technical awareness of relevant products, competitors, and trends in the marketplace.

  • Be a subject matter expert / technical leader within the organization, and trusted advisor to our customers

  • Act as a principal point for sales reps and management in sales engineering opportunity assignments and escalations

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience managing pre-sales for enterprise software or security company with a proven record of accomplishment

  • 5+ years of experience presenting technical information at the business executive level or at the architect level

  • Bachelors degree in a technical subject (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering), or equivalent years of experience

  • Prior experience working with channel/partner

  • Enterprise software pre-sales and deployment experience across private, public and hybrid clouds

  • Strong background in at least 3 the following areas:

    • Enterprise Databases (Oracle, SQL server, Informix, DB2 etc.)

    • Security (encryption, access control, PKI, digital certificates etc.)

    • Multi Factor Authentication & Public Key Infrastructure

    • Cloud Security and Cloud Application Modernization (DevOps, Automation, Kubernetes)

    • Identity and Access Management (SAML 2.0, Radius, WS-Federation, OAuth, and OpenID Connect, Single Sign On, and Context Based Authentication)

  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to think strategically about business, technical challenges, and solutions

  • Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering field of study

  • 10+ years of pre-sales experience for enterprise software or Security Company

  • Public Cloud Architect Certifications

  • Knowledge of Risk Management concepts, Global Privacy, and Security Regulations for Data
